what EXACTLY do you mean by 'brick'? Is there a Toshiba splash screen? Can you hear the fan start? Do you see lights go on and then off? How old is the laptop? Has it taken a fall or was it subject to a place that has a lot of thunderstorms? Do you have real battery backups or surge protection? You need to give more information. Otherwise it sounds like: Car broke down.

How do you do a hard reset on a Toshiba do 5570

1 Disconnect the 115 volt power brick from the laptop

2 Remove the laptop battery

3 Hold down the Power On button for 10 seconds

4 Hook everything back up.
This procedure will discharge the capacitors and allow a VERY clean start.

I was loading update bios for Toshiba satellite when it locked up now I don't get any screen when I start laptop I have tried holding power button for 10 secs as recommended but didn't

Sound like you bricked the laptop. Was the Bios Update interrupted somehow? If it was, it's an ex laptop, no more, gone to the spare parts store in the sky. Where did you get the update from?

My 18 month toshiba satellite lap top battery is not taking a charge.

I had a similar problem with a Toshiba laptop. Problem was an issue with the bios being out of date. Go to the Toshiba website, download the bios for your model and install per Toshiba's instruction. That should fix the problem.

My Toshiba Laptop is not turning on though i charge it. When i click on the power button, i see the lights going green but nothing appearing on the screen. The caps lock or the num lock is not working....

Remove the battery and use this laptop on mains/wall power, with the aid of the power brick from Toshiba. As the battery may be giving problems.
Else it may be that the computer system is experiencing severe problems, in which case a computer technician needs to help.

This is a problem with your charger, I had the problem with my toshiba Sattelite, it was either a break in the wire or a short in the brick. You need to purchase a new charger.
