For Android users, get the app Android Assistant and run it, use the Tools tab and choose the tool named "APP2SD" and choose an app from the list. When the app description appears, click on the STORAGE button and then click on CHANGE and click on SD to move the app from "Internal" to "SD card". Wait for the app to finish being moved, then back out to the list of apps that can still be moved to the SD card and do the next app. Be aware that when apps get updated, they will move back to the internal memory, so I usually check with APP2SD about once a week and move things as needed to my SD card. For space on my SD card, I chose a 128GB micro SD card and I've only filled it about 1/4th of the way over the past year. This is the safest way to move things because Android Assistant will only list the apps that can be safely moved to the SD card. Some built-in phone apps must stay on the phone's internal memory to keep working, and those cannot be moved and won't be shown by the APP2SD tool.
The Android Assistant also has a "Cache Clear" option on the Monitor tab that helps free up internal memory on your phone when you run it (cache clear). The app (Android Assistant) may tell you it needs access to stuff so it can clear the cache. Do what it says to give it access, then go back and tell it to clear cache and it will free up some more internal memory. Cache items will be refilled as and when each app gets used, so if memory runs short again, you might need to do this "as-needed".
I paid the cheap price for Android Assistant Pro so I wouldn't accidentally click on advertisements that pay for the free version. It find the app very helpful.
TIP: You can also set MANY apps to PUT their things directly to the SD card instead of internal memory! Yay! I did this with my camera app and it REALLY helps by having photos and videos sent directly to the SD card so I don't have to keep moving them around.

SOURCE: how does ram vs internal storage work on tablet?

There are 2 storage in just about every smartphone or tablet. There is an internal storage, usually about 1gb. or 2gb. And there an internal SD storage, which is not same as the external micro sd card. RAM stands for Read Access Memory, it will not work as storage. Now, when you download an app it is usually save in the internal storage. If you move an app without an external micro sd card inserted, you are moving them to the internal SD storage. If possible got to setting>storage and check how is the storage divided, if you insert the external micro sd card it should display 3 separate bars. Also, another way to move apps and other things around is by using ES File Explorer. Check that out first and I hope you do resolve the problem, best of luck.

SOURCE: Can you move apps from the internal storage to a sd card? If you can how to do so?

Depends upon the app. Just as in cell phones, some apps can be shifted over to the SD card, some cannot. You must go to app management menu and see if the option to move to the SD card is active.

My tablet keeps giving me error message. Insuficcant space on tablet to download apps

This means the internal memory is full and the only way to add apps is to uninstall other apps that you have installed. Check to see if you have apps you no longer use and uninstall them.

Why doe it say it has a second memory card and where would it be located .on storage it says sdcard2

William, your device has two "cards" in it...an external card where you can save not only data, pics, etc., but also install certain Apps onto AND it has the internal card (or "hard drive", if you like) that the Operating System and most of the Data is on.

The sdcard2 to which it's referring is the external card (the one you can remove)...the internal will likely be labelled something more akin to "system" where the ROM is stored, it's mounted read only so you can't normally write there OR sdcard0 (zero) which is an emulated sd card, so even if it's part of the same physical storage, it's seen by the os as an sd card.

Just for the record, some manufacturers choose to not enable "move to sd card" for the emulated sd card, some enable it, it's not a bug just a choice. Hope this helps!!!

I downloaded google play store but it wont let me download any apps. Why does it keep saying insufficient storage space even with my sd card in? It shows my internal storage is full.

my LG phone did the same thing. My internal memory stayed at full capacity while my SD card was available with all of its space ready to use. the phone would not allow me to add anything to the SD card. every time i wanted to add an app, i had to delete an app i already had. an extremely frustrating and ridiculous issue which should never have even been an issue. if i had known i would not be able to use my SD card to store apps, pics, etc, i never would have purchased the phone. long story short, i googled the issue, tried many of the suggestions with no success. after much trial and error, i finally found the solution to my problem. i bought a new phone. it was not an LG. i was and am extremely disappointed with the USER UNFRIENDLINESS of this LG cell phone. shame on LG for not giving all the information to purchasers of their product. sorry it isn't better news.

I get this message when trying to connect to wi fi. But I have an sd card and storage is fine?

You have an SD card, and there's plenty of space there, but . . .
The main storage in your device is full. Move some files/pictures, etc to your SD card, and the problem will go away.

The SD card and the internal storage are separate, and your device can't move stuff automatically.

How do you move internal storage to the sd card to free up internal space

touch the "Settings" icon, go down to the "Device" area, touch the "Storage" icon : go to the bottom of the screen, and select "Transfer data to SD card", then select the items you want to move.

You should also move some apps from internal storage to the SD card : "Settings", "Device", and touch "Applications" : then touch each and every application : for most of them, the button "Move to SD card" will be active, just proceed.

I have an irulu tablet. I inserted a 32gb sd card. It says it is mounted and when i try to install an app from the google play store i get the message there is insuficient space available. how do i get it...

Most apps do not natively install to an SD card when downloaded from the play store. You have to have an app like AppManager, that has a function to 'move' apps from internal storage to an SD card, or use a manual option in the Android Settings section to move each app individually.. If you are that tight on space that you cannot load any new app, you may have to delete or move something from your internal storage so you can download AppManager or some similar app, and then move as many apps as you can to your SD card. If you have a lot of photos and music you can try moving that to the SD card if your player/viewer software will allow you to find it there. Best way to move bulk items (music/photos, not apps) is to connect to a PC through USB, which brings up your internal storage and the SD card as external USB storage items. Then copy from internal storage to SD card through your PC. Best to establish folders on the SD card to hold these items and then tell your app where they are.
