Problem With Xbox 360

Why you replaced the dvd drive i do not know, The problem is if you have installed a non microsoft xbox dvd driver it will not work! If your original dvd driver is broken as to why you have replaced it, contact microsoft or your local games shop for another xbox 360 or drive. You can also by a addon driver, you can see it here

Try to clean out your xbox 360. Or, try to clean the disc with a soft rag and windex. Or, your disc is scratched

i always just take the game or movie out and put back in till it works.

you will need to take this apart, and look inside the disc drive itself, and most likely tights some screws up as they get loose with the vibrations of the drive

This is a known issue with the 360, most likely the cause is that the spindle that holds the disc is loose or completely broken off. As the way the cap for the spindle was made, microsoft used a magnet to hold it in place instead of glue or soldering as most drives would have. This is just another instance of inferior workmanship on their part to save money.

Contact 1-800-4MY-XBOX to get an RMA issued.

Check the region code on the disc. There should be a code around the inside ring of the disc.

Try using a cd lens cleaner in the XBox 360 dvd drive, and make sure the game cd does not have scratches.

Most likely a DVD drive problem. Call 1-800-4my-xbox and they should take care of it for you...especially if the console is fairly new.
