It could be that the water line is freezing up. Have you ever had bits of ice come out of it? If you have a good thermometer, you might check the temp of the water.

Chill the thermometer so it's close to freezing. Draw a few ounces of water (too much and you'll be bringing in warmer water from the line) and check to see if it's below 36 degrees.

If you're icing your water line, just turn the thermostat up (warmer) by a bit.

Just had another thought on this one -- does your fridge have a water filter? When was the last time you changed it?

For the Pur water filter in ours, they recommend changing it every 6-9 months. Your filter may be (almost certainly is) different.

How do i fix ice maker

Could be 2 different problems. Inlet water valve is a dual valve (2 halves). 1 half feeds water to the door dispenser, the other half fills the icemaker. The icemaker half could be bad or blocked up with sediment causing a no fill situation. 2nd problem could be the icemaker itself which sends power to the inlet valve when it needs filled. Usually the inlet valve fails first but you need to test and see.

Water dispenser doesn't work

It could be the water valve. There is usually one for the ice maker and one for the water.

FROZEN WATER FILTER - UNRELIABLE TEMPERATURES

About the dual water control valve the side that feeds the ice maker could be defective. Fill the ice maker with tap water and let freeze. If it dumps and does not refill the water control valve will need replaced. Here is a link to the water control valve.

Intermittantly no water from inside water dispenser

I just started having the problem of no water dispensing from the in-door dispenser. I checked the operating manual and it suggested that the refridge temp may be set too low thus freezing up the water line. I have set the temp higher and we will see if that helps. I do not think that will do it because as you too note, the ice maker works fine. If the filter were an issue the ice maker would not refill either.

I have the same problem, although mine is intermittent. Apparently it's a problem with the line freezing. For an excellent discussion of the issue, see http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/advice/t-14182.html
