SOURCE: battery will not charge

I purchased a Genuine Dell Battery, It arrived dead with 1 test light on battery itself at 0% charged, It only lasted 2 mins before the laptop died running on battery, It doesn't charge the Dell battery at all The replacement battery only shows a 1% charge every 7 hours or so, nor do I have a yellow, green, orange light, The only time I get a light on the battery led is if i'm running on batteries and the battery level is below 10%, Its orange for low battery.
Thanks in advance to anyone who could help me.

SOURCE: battery will not charge

Hi!

It's your ac adapter that is causing this issue. The ac adapter doesn't supply enough power or doesn't supply any power at all to the battery. Try to borrow another ac adapter from any inspiron system and if that works, then you need to replace the ac adapter, else, it's the motherboard.

Hope you find it helpful.

Thanks,

Karlox™ :)

SOURCE: Dell latitude D600 battery charge light flashing

That usually indicates battery is beginning to go bad. Eventually it will not hold a charge and will need to be replaced.

My ASUS K52 battery is at 58% and not charging why ?

Is this an ASUS charger and battery? Some ASUS laptops will not charge after a certain charge is reached, but it's usually in the 95-100% range to prevent overcharging.

If you bought an aftermarket charger, it may very well not have the amperage to charge while running the laptop.

Acer Aspire 4830T laptop battery behaving vaguely

Do you still have the old battery. If so charge it, and see if it charges properly. If so then you have a bad battery.

Packard bell netbook nav50 battery stopped charging properly. bought a new charger and battery and it still wont charge it up.

LOL, I didn't know Packard Bell was still making computers. I would think they sold you a bad battery. I've purchased new batteries before that would not charge.

My laptop is plugged in but is not charging

This is almost always a bad battery, but occasionally is the charging circuit.
Unfortunately there's no concrete test to tell which is the issue without putting another battery in it.
See if a friend has the same laptop, and ask if you can borrow their battery to do this test.
A repair shop might be able to tell you which is the issue, but as I said, it's about 90-95% certainty that it's the battery.

Hi , laptop works fine when fully charged and plugged in, but should i unplug it and run the battery down even as little as to 95% battery life ,when i plug it back in the laptop will not recognize that it...

just take the battery out of your laptop and plug it in again. this may help to overcome the problem still.. if you face the problem.. just trying replacing the battery by asking it with some of your friends. and if it works.. buy one for you.

We have an Acer Aspire 5810TZ. It will not run unless the AC is plugged in. It shows 95% battery but not charging.

Um, no... I am seeing the exact same issue and my battery is not dead. System says it is 100% charged and the system was just running on battery for 2 hours the previous day now suddenly mine will not run on battery at all. I am starting to smell a product defect issue here but can't get anyone to talk to me about it at that level.

Power meter says the battery is charged to 95% but when I un plug it the screen goes blank and it needs to be rebooted

Ok, just because the battery is 95% charged doesn't mean that it has 95% of the charge it's supposed to have. When a battery ages it holds less and less of a charge so it can have just a tiny bit of power and show as 95%. You can check the health of the battery on this Dell by removing the battery, pressing and holding the status button. The more lights that light the worse the battery is. Dell recommends a new one if 5 or more light.

Also, check the battery charge by just pressing without holding. This time the MORE lights the better. It may be that powermeter is lying.

Pluged in but not charging

Hi Lisa,
The laptops only four weeks old and you experiencing problems already!!!!
The best advice that i can give you is to remove the AC power from the laptop and run the battery completely down to the laptop shuts itself down, then try to charge the battery to 100% charge, if it charges to 100% then all's well and there is nothing to worry about.
If it only charges to 95% again then i would recommend that you back up any data that you have on the machine to a flash drive, external drive or CD/DVD and take advantage of the manufacturers warranty and send it in for HP to deal with, it will cost you nothing as its covered for at least a year.

Good luck and regards.

Battery charge indicator seems faulty.

Solved own problem. Bad conection between pcb and battery contact pins. Reheat each battery pin on the pcb carefully until solder reflow occurs then remove heat. PDA now repaired
