LCD fault the desk top window is not full screen when i start computer

    the computer is a dell latitude cpi it is old .its for my kids to play basic games on it is runing win 98 thanks for any help

    I have the same problem and it also says I have bad display driver but I don't know which one to use.

Hold Fn+F7 (font) and the screen will return to normal size.

Try increasng the screen resolution by accessing display propertes in control panel,it could resolve issue if display card supports higher screen resolution

1) Click the "Start" button lower left hand corner of the screen, or the Windows key on the keyboard,

The back light is the whole of the screen, the screen is illuminated by a CCFL lamp (fluro tube) on the bottom of the screen. A inverter supplies high voltage to this CCFL lamp.
If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :-

I AM SETTING UP A DESK TOP COMPUTER AND MY MONITOR IS SHOWING ME A MESSAGE THAT SAYS "OVER RESERVE". MY WINDOWS PROGRAM STARTS UP AND THEN THE MONITOR SWITCHES TO THIS MESSAGE. CAN YOU HELP ???


Go in safe mode (tap f8 while booting the pc) and set the resolution of your screen to a lower one. then reboot and you should have a working environment

New monitor purchased with a package with compaq desk top, but trying to use with a Acer desk top, screen comes on , but then goes completely dark after about two seconds. If switched off then on, again...


Could be a faulty monitor, or could be missing the driver information for the monitor. Usually when you first connect it will use a generic driver to start but then should automatically download and install the correct driver information for the monitor. Could also just be a faulty cable, power or VGA, HDMI, which ever you are using. Try using different cables first, then you can google search for the correct driver and manually install it.

My screen is scrambled don't know if its the


if you can see the windows screen on start up and it looks ok and scambled when on desk top you may fine its needing driver updates,

if the screen is the same scramble at start up as in desktop screen then the lcd panel is at fault ,the videocard in from memory on the motherboard

there are chips along the top of the lcd inside the case,some times they fail and do the same scramble result,replace lcd panel and away you go,

try an external monitor yet?Misterdj

My monitor say out of range and no in put siginal be for this it said DVI disconnected. I can plug it into 2 other computers and it works. HELP


This problem is the screen resolution that your computer is set at. Start the computer enter safe mode, press and hold F8 as windows starts. change the resolution right hand mouse click on desk top, click on properties, lower the screen resolution, and re start. I hope that helps.

your system display settings are set to a wide screen setting on desk top right click then properties, right had tab display then set the screen size to a square shape like 1024 x 768.

Acer Monitor boots up w/computer then "no signal"


you must have disconnected it while the pc was running.damage can occur while doing this as can a keyboard (they are not like USB devices that can be plugged and unplugged while "hot".)
