And I doubt I can locate it either as you probably have tried:

I am cheeky enough to say that on ebay, one can buy the entire unit for over a grand. There are hardware outfits specializing in hinges but who can say if they have something for this.

SOURCE: Door gasket icing

Icing is caused by warm, moist air hitting cold air. Either your gasket is not properly sealing to the frame or the door frame heater is either off or not working. Some units have an off/on switch for that. The heater is usually referred to as an "Anti Sweat" heater. Make sure the door is closing and sealing. The door frame should be slightly warm to the touch. If not, look for no power to the heater or the heater could be damaged/ burned out.

Good luck and hope this helps,.

Congratulations on being able to install one of these beasts. You may have a gasket dragging on the hinge side of the door. Apply some petroleum jelly to this side of the gasket so that it doesn't hang up on the ref cavity. Make sure that all your screws are screwed all the way in. There are no adjustments. Use a blow dryer to heat gasket to get any wrinkles out. careful not to scorch the gasket.

Door will not remain closed

Check to see if the shelves are not hitting the door shelves. the crisper drawers are in properly and there is not something too large in the door shelves. This is the usually reason for the doors not to stay closed. the other reason could be a bad door gasket.

The gasket on the right hand French door is slightly torn, so I bought a replacement gasket. It's arrived, but I have no clue how to replace the gasket.

The gasket is easy to replace. Remove bins and shelves set them aside. Next at the top right hand corner remove the door trim cover pull it straight out and set it aside. Note the tabs on the inside of the trim are fragile. Peel back the gasket at the top forward edge and bottom frward edge and you will locate a hinge. Use a small screw driver to pop these hinges out. Pull out the gasket on that side first and the whole seal comes on out of there. The hinge slides out of the old seal. Just snap yer new back in. Do on door at a time. The trim pieces for each door are different. Snap your door trim back and check for propah opening and closing of door. Then party on!

Door will open will not close

The door on a refrigerator is an important component to the over all functionality of the refrigerator. A simple refrigerator door repair can potentially save hundreds of dollars in energy every year.
Check the Hinges
A misaligned door hinge can release cold air from inside the refrigerator, causing it to run less efficiently. If the door doesn't shut evenly it could be a problem with a hinge. The easiest repair for this is to simply tighten the screws that hold the hinges. If this doesn't solve the problem try to see if the hinges are level. You may need to replace the hinges all together.
The Door Gasket
The rubber piece that circles the entire door serves a purpose more than just helping the door close quietly. It should form a seal that maintains the temperature inside the refrigerator. If the gasket is cracked or warped you will need to replace this. Find the model number for your refrigerator and you can find the right gasket. Some gaskets are simply put on with adhesives, others require clamps or screws.
The Light
If you have a faulty door switch, the light may stay on in your refrigerator. This wastes valuable energy. To check this simply find the switch and press on it with the door open. Sometimes a thorough cleaning of the switch can fix the problem.

By maintaining your refrigerator door and making the necessary repairs you can save yourself a lot of money in lost energy costs.

I hope this help in solving the problem....

We have a Jenn Air Wall over that the door will not close air tight. They have replaced the hinges but you can actually stick a thumb between the top part of the oven and the door. They say it's supposed...

there's a door gasket that seals it not the metal part of the door so you might be able to stick your thumb in there as long as the seal on the door is closing tightly to the frame, when you open the door it should be on a 90 degree angle, before you had new hinges put on the door, most likely the door sagged lower to the floor and didn't close properly,if you think alot of heat is escaping you could have a bad door open the door, look at it from the side,it should look like an L or at a 90 degree angle or even up a little,if it is the hinges aren't the problem if you think to much heat is escaping, call whoever did the work for you and have them check the door seal or gasket same didn't send the model number so i don't know what seal you need,go here and watch video should be similar and you can put your model number in to find correct part
hope this helps you out,if heat is coming out with door closed and you have new hinges this is most likely what's wrong

Refrigeator door does not shut tight.

I would check to see if your door gasket is binding somewhere. If it does not, I take some strong tape and tape the door shut tight so that the gasket can form properly. You need to make sure that the gasket does not bind up anywhere on the door. If this is not the problem, than go to the top hinge. There should be 2 or 3 screws under the cover. Loosen those screws and you should be able to manually move the door into place and then tighten the screws back down.I hope I helped.

How to change door seal

Replacing the door seal on most dishwashers is very simple. Just follow these steps:

1. Pull the old door seal from the groove around the wash tub facing. Take note of which surface area of the gasket is inserted in the groove and which surface is facing the door. It may not seal properly if you install the gasket the wrong way.

2. Clean the area really well to ensure there are no food debris or soap deposits. Also clean the inner door area where the door meets the gasket. You need a clean surface for the best results.

3. Locate the center mark of the new gasket. This will be a small paint spot or small groove on the gasket (this surface is the side of the gasket that will be inserted in the groove around the tub facing). If there is no center mark, fold the gasket in half and mark the location with some chalk, or hold with your fingers.

4. Locate the top center part of the wash tub facing and align the center mark of the door gasket at that point. Begin pushing the gasket into the groove with your hands and work your way around and down along each side.

5. Make sure the gasket is inserted all the way around the tub facing to the point where it meets the wash tub bottom. You can pull the gasket out and readjust as necessary.

This repair should take you about 30 minutes or less to complete. Its simple and requires no tools. The door will be tough the shut for a while until the gasket compresses and takes the door shape. Do not slam the door if it becomes difficult to shut. Simply close the door and the push firmly at the point just above the door latch until the latch clicks. Slamming the door can damage the control panel components, the door latch and/or the hinges.

If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please post back with a complete model number so that I may be able to provide you with better service. hope this helps you.

Door drops down 1/8' when open. To close need to

If the model number you have this listed under is correct, there is no adjustment. More than likely the door pivot and/or hinges are worn. They can easily be replaced, however. The part numbers are as follows:

Door Pivot - 8184922
Upper Door Hinge - W10114255
Lower Door Hinge - W10114254

You can find these parts at Just type in the model number and locate items 6, 8, and 13 under the "Door Parts" heading.

If you have questions about this repair, or have a different model number, please post back and let me know so that I may be able to provide better assistance. I hope this helps you.

Hi I have a GE side by side and the frig door is not closing / sealing properly. Any ideas? John

close the door and test for drag on all sides. you may need to realign the door hinge adjustment. Just check the clearence around the doors, make sure the doors don't drag. you may need to tweek the doors if they apear to be sprung. last thing is to check the magnet and make sure its strong enough to pull the door closed. I use a dollar bill and slide it up and down and all around the door seal. the westinghouse repair man showed me this and it stuck with me. well i hope i was of some help thank you sawdust46
