Take a look at this web page/video. Your problem may be that the thermal limiter switch blew (which is not that easy to replace) .... compared to something in the control panel going out. Had you been doing a lot of heavy dryer loads before the unit died .. or a lot of lint built up? A blown limiter switch in some dryers will be as if you unplugged it (nothing goes on) ... but some dryers will still turn the drum but not heat. I am not sure about your unit.
The limiter switch is a safety device so your dryer does not overheat .... so if the switch did blow try to understand WHY .... or it may just blow again.
Good luck...

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.
To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

Mine shows a faint light behind the control locked indicator and the timer is dimly lit on the two middle horizontal bars (middle of the eights). They go off by pushing various button combos. If I unplug it for a week I can get the control to work for a few minutes.
I replaced the control board, it worked for 5 minutes, then back to nothing. I want to replace the interface but would rather not waste any more money.
I dont want to check every wire for continuity. If someone has fixed this problem, please let me know.

disassemble front door to get to the latch. Check if the latch is properly in place, sometimes the metal cylinder that hold it in place, slips out of position.

It is one or two things. Motor start switch or the motor itself.

Hi.
Please read the Fixya article below explaining how to fix the problems related to control lock on Whirlpool dryers and washers.
The front light lit on my Whirlpool.
Regards.
Hello Scott Joseph Brandt - Since you have already replaced the thermal limiter check your breaker or fuses. Some dryers are run by two separate fuses, one for power and one for heat-ours is. If it is not the power source more than likely the issue lies with your heating coil.
