Sharper image ultrasonic humidifier #EV-HD10B leaking water

It looks like the plug that goes in the bottom of the tank has a rubber ring around it. That rubber bit should feel soft to the touch. If it seems like it has dried out or become hard to the touch, it may be the issue. However this is a newer unit so being dried out would be strange. Are you positive it is setup properly? I hate to "blame" the owner but I know when I have a newer/rarely used piece of gear, I find myself incorrectly remembering things.

First, try wiping down the rubber ring on the plug for the water tank. Then when you put it back in, set it in the sink and let it sit there. Check it in a few minutes to see if its leaking sitting there. That will tell you if the water plug is bad or not. If it does not leak sitting there(not in the humidifier) then put it in the humidifier. If it starts to leak again, then your issue is somewhere else in the humidifier. From the looks of it, I suspect if the tank or other parts are not perfectly seated and aligned , they may allow the drain inside the tank plug to run away on its own and leak everywhere.

Looked at it again just now. I see the low water level light is on with 1/2 gal water. Also, the rubber plug/washer is popped up not suctioning. How do I clean it ?

Great job rostit! When you mentioned perfectly aligned, I took a look at the bottom of the unit. And of course one of the rubber feet were missing!
