Secret trick: take NES cartridge, press cartridge down and waggle the cartridge inside the NES and then hold the NES down and shove the cartridge onto the pins. An alternate solution is to take a Q tip, dip it in rubbing alcohol and clean out all the dust inside your game.

The red light flashes on my NES and on the TV screen, it keeps on changing colors. Do you know whats wrong?

The NES is touchy like that, sadly-- your problem isn't uncommon. My NES, and the NES of nearly every friend I have who still owns one, plays this little trick on them from time to time. Here's what we do:

1. Turn off the NES console.
2. Blow into bottom of the game, near the chip that connects to the NES.
3. Wipe away any excess dust from the game itself.
4. Blow into the console of the NES.
5. Wipe away any excess dust.
6. Re-insert the game and try again.

If this doesn't work, try placing the game in more delicately, or with more force. It's just a matter of trial and error, and sometimes it will work faster than others. Hope this helped!

My NES_oo1 powers up, but does not do anything when I press the Reset botton. Looks like the machine does not recognize the game cartridge.

Did you try blowing in the game? That used to work for me. I would look into buying a new 72 pin connector. This issue has plagued the NES and this new 72 pin connector fixes this problem for good. Just google NES 72 pin connector.

Well the problem might be with the ppu chip inside of the console the picture processing unit chip has gone bad then. Try cleaning the game packs out with quips and rubbing alcohol or maybe it's a faulty pin connected that you have purchased then for the PPU chip it needs to be replaced.

Nes wonnt turn on, but when it does red light is flashing

Did you replace the 72 pin connector while it was apart? This is the number 1 reason for NES to fail to load or flash. A brief search of "72 pin connector" on eBay should net you a new connector for about $5 US.
If you have already done this, and the problem is really bad then recheck your work and make sure everything is connected tight.
Also consider that allot of nes games were not taken care of very well, so if the problem is specific to a couple cartridges, consider cleaning them as they are probably not connecting well.
Good luck.

I have changed the pin connector on my nes, it does not flash anymore but now i get a blank screen can someone help me?

First try connecting through the av ports on the side of the console rather than the RF port on the rear of the unit.

If that doesn't work then your problem is likely a loose connection inside, go back in and reassemble.

I have had this issue with several consoles; these two solutions usually take care of it, though in rare cases a defective 72 pin connector was at fault even though it was brand new.

Good luck.

Nes power light oes on and off

The nes does this to stop people from playing pirated games, but it can also be because the game cartridge or console is dirty. Try cleaning inside the game cartridge with a cotton bud dipped in a cleaning product of some kind. it mostly works for me!
