What could be causing the front axillary fuse to keep blowing? Even bigger fuses blow.

fuses blow from over current( dead short) they are rated at lower than what is required so that the wire doesn't burn
If you keep putting in bigger fuses without fixing the dead short, eventually the wire will melt the plastic insulation off and the vehicle will burn

You have an electrical short. The fuse is preventing a fire. Keep the fuse out until you can have a mechanic fix it.

V star 1100 headlight fuse blows repeatedly

Hi, Anonymous you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. 92 grand marquis i have 1 wire and fuse that keeps gettin hot and the fuse keeps blowin. the wire has melted down into where it connects to the back of the fuse box. It get very, very hot at the connection...

you have a slow short in system this can cause a fire you need to determine what circuit it is and check for either a defective part also bad electrical connection you will need to possibly replace the wire or insulate it after cause is found

No lights workin

Disconnect the plugs from the light bulbs. if the fuse stops blowing when you turn on the ignition it is a bulb. It may have blown and shorted the element out inside itself. If the fuse still blows it is probably a wiring problem. Also check rear light bulb for same thing as it is on same circuit.

MY AMP KEEPS BLOWIN THE FUSE...i CHANGED THE GROUND AND HOT WIRE TO BIGGER GUAGE WIRE AND THE PROBLEM STILL THERE ..........THE AMP IS A ALPINE MRV-307

Hello creelb22,

Fuses usually blow because of a short of too much current.

Test your wiring (including the speaker wires) and make sure they are not shorting or grounding against the vehicle chassis. Also make sure that the speaker voice coils are not shorted.

Hope this helps.

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee...Blowing ASD fuse

My daughters jeep had the same problem. We fixed by finding the wires that run beside the manifold down under the car. The conduit that have the wires in it was worn away because of resting up against the manifold, causing the wires to short the system out. Once I replaced the conduit and taped the wires it has not shorted out again. By the way, the Jeep dealer couldn't find the problem.
