Enclosure is irrelevant. Impedance IS important. The speakers must be equal or greater than the amp's speaker impedance rating. Use an ohm meter to test the speakers. Most high end power speakers are 2-4 ohms when tested out of circuit. ie. Disconnected from the amp. If you get "0" or infinity readings, replace the speaker.

I would double check your connections also any fuses on the amp i have blown a few fuses on my amp haven't checked into the main reason for that to happen but its common if you don't have a big enough amp... assuming that the amp is getting overloaded. I would say you need a bigger amp like 1600watt or 1800watt

Due to lack of description of your subs I am assuming your amp is cutting out due to impedance mismatch. Some amps can handle low impedance (ohms), lower the number more power from your amp. And there are amps that are limited to 2-4 ohms.

Try to attach your subs to single channels, for example, one sub goes to channel 1, and second to channel 2 and so on. Try not to bridge them together and see what happens.

Backfeed problems

back feed can be caused by running your rca's beside your power wire, and if you don't have your remote wire connected properly your amp might not turn on, or off depending on the amp. it could also be your power wires (acc and constant power) on your deck are mixed up, you would be able to tell if it cant remember the time

I have a similar setup & I just run the second amp straight off the other amp by running positive & remote wires directly from 1 amps positive & remote inputs to the others amps inputs. But my head unit has RCA inputs, (sub in & front & rear inputs) so from my 4 channel amp I run 2 6 inch alpine S's to the front to the front RCA inputs of the head unit, & 2 Pioneer 440w 6x9 inch speakers to the rear inputs. & my 800w 12 inch sub from my 2 channel amp to the sub woofer inputs on the head unit. Has blown my eardrums for nearly 12 months now great stuff! Hope this has helped

Getting my son a sony xplod xm-1652 2 channel what subs would sound good and the things says 1000x2 and 500x2 what is the truth

165 watts x 2 @ 4ohms and 200-230 watts@ 2 ohms or 400-460 watts bridged into a 4 ohm mono load is what the amp will actually do. A single 12 inch sub or a pair of 10 inch subs or 12s would be great

Is amp big enough for speakers

Hello,

To run 2 subs, the amp would be a little small. The subs will run OK, they just won't be very loud.

It's usually better to compare and match up the RMS power rather than the peak power. The Sony XS-L10P5B sub has a peak power handling figure of 1200 watts, but the RMS is 300 watts. The Sony XM-ZZR3301 monoblock amp puts out 1100 watts peak, but only 330 watts RMS. They would work great together, 1 sub, 1 amp. But if you add another sub, each one would only be getting about 165 watts. They'd work OK, just not as loud as they could be.

Hope this helps!

S-Sir Sub Unit won't pair

In order to properly pair the units, verify that the channel switch on the back of the sub units are set to either A, B, or C. Then go into the setup menu and go to setup tab. You can then scroll down to system setup. Verify that the base unit is set to the same channel as your sub units A, B, or C. You then can choose the pairing operation. Have your sub units close to the base and on for this operation. They must be linked to have the pairing operation work. The pairing option will ask if you are ready to pair a sub unit. Select OK. You will then be instructed to begin pairing. Find the pairing button on the back of the sub unit and depress. Depending on the sub unit you may see a red light flash or the front display will say pairing. Once complete the menu screen on the TV will tell you that the pairing is complete and ask if you would like to do another unit. Continue if you have another unit or select OK to complete the process. Once you return to the system setup menu the channel indicator A, B or C will have the work pairing next to it (i.e A (pairing)). If you continue to have trouble you can change the RF channel on the system setup menu from AUTO to ON. Good Luck. CEB
