I have an HP 4515 that is printing blank pages. I have tried to replace the toner and the power supply board. Neither resolved the issue. When the paper gets deliver out the paper is warm. This occurs when...

I believe I understand your issue:-
The printer is able to come to ready- your still able to navigate the menus. the printer goes through all the motions of printing except producing an image-
Having the machine print a test page ( internal Print ) tests whether the formatter is still able to generate a digital image ready for the print engine, but does not diagnose the print engine-
1) power down and remove power cord
2)remove the toner cartridge, use a pair of pliers and gently rotate the drum ( within the toner cartridge, a drive gear/mesh can be found on the end of the toner unit)- are you able to turn this drum or has it seized?
if it doesnt replace the new toner with another NEW toner and try again
3) return the power and power up the machine having first disconnected all network connections.
allow the machine to come to ready.
4) ask the printer for a config page ( internal print) and estimate when the paper is immediately below the drum surface ( toner cart) and using the power switch turn the printer off- causing a jam in the centre of the printer - this is ok we do this to see if an image has been generated on the drum surface- remove the toner cartridge and slide the drum protector plate to the side, look carefully at the drum suface ( you should see a latent image of a config page, at this point look at the paper still jammed inside the printer and see if there are any signs of toner ( there should be part of an image allready on the surface ) now if there is an image on the drum but no image on the paper then I would replace the transfer roller and or transfer HVT power unit, if however there is no image on the drum then you have a very serious problem which will require a new laser unit ( but this should really come up with a diagnostic error code)or Primary HVT unit.

I have a LaserJet 1020 that prints but has a vertical black line on the right margin, and paper is crumpled or jammed all the time. Please help. The printer has not been used that much.

Locate and check the printer drum. You should be able to see the mark that is causing the line on your page. It could be s scratch or a ring of toner that the wiper is not picking up because a nick or something under it. Try cleaning the drum with a very soft dry cloth and inspect it again. If the mark is still there the drum will have to be replaced. Do Not Try To Clean The Drum With Any Type Of Solvent!
The paper pick up fingers and rollers get smooth and polished with use and then slide on the paper. Clean the rollers and pick mechanisms with isopropyl alcohol to rejuvenate them and restore their grip on the paper. Do this as far along the paper path as you can get, using Q Tips where necessary and turn the rollers to clean their whole surfaces.

We have vertical lines through the colour ink on every print job.

Hi Sandra,

There are usually a few possible causes of a line on a laser print of
the nature you mention.

One is a scratch on the drum surface. This can be caused by a piece of
grit getting into the wrong place, from paper or elsewhere. Scratched
drums tend to hold toner in that location which is then transferred to
the paper and fused to it.

The other cause is if the drum wiper black has become damaged (again can
be caused by a piece of grit). In this case, the wiper black which is
supposed to clean excess untransferred toner to a waste chamber in the
cartridge, has a slight damage in it, and the toner is moved and
redeposited on the drum where this gap is. The wiper blade is usually
made of a silicone like rubber with a sharply cut edge. On rare
occasions a piece of dirt can lodge on this wiper and temporarily deform
the blade, again allowing toner to get under it and redeposited on the drum.

If the drum and wiper is accessible, you can sometime very gently run a
business card under the blade and gently slide it down the drum to clean
any grit or paper dust that might be deforming the blade. However, on
HP cartridges most of this stuff is internal and not easy to access
without taking the cartridge apart.

If the cartridge was purchased new and is an HP brand, they may allow
you to do an exchange, since they use recycled and reused parts even in
their newly boxed cartridges. Also, if it is from a refiller which
guarantees the quality of the refill, you may be able to get a
replacement. If you had the cartridge refilled yourself using your own
cartridge, you may have less options.

Good Luck,

kc

Have a hp laserjet II P printer. paper feed not

drum drive gear is broken that is why it is jamming

Paper jam

If it is getting crumpled in the tray, there is something blocking the paper path.
What I would suggest is taking out the toner and drum cartridge, then remove the paper tray. Tip the machine on it's back and look into the paper feed area for something blocking the paper path.
When it is crumpling the paper like that, the feeder is working fine, just something blocking the paper path.
You can take a minela folder, and gently push it through the paper path to dislodge the obstruction.

Check the crumpled paper. If it has an image, it has reached the drum and is crumpling at the fuser unit (part that gets hot). If that is the case the fuser gear and drive gear need to be replaced.
