Hi, Follow the steps below to configure settings on the router:

1. Connect a computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router, usually with http://192.168.1.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com.
3. Login to the router with the username as "admin" and password as "password" (please note that the username and password are case sensitive).
4. Click on WAN setup from left menu. Set the MTU size to 1400.
5. Check the box for 'Disable SPI Firewall'.
6. Click apply to save your settings.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Anyone can use my internet how do i set up security code i have netgear wireless 150 wnr1000 router how do i fix this everyone using my enternet

You need to configure your router with wireless encryption.

Connect a LAN cable from the Netgear to the LAN port on your computer, open a browser and enter the Netgear configuration URL -
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = password You can now change the default admin password and configure the wireless settings.
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

Default access

You didn't supply the Model of NetGear device. Push and hold the reset button for 30 seconds or so, release. This will reset to default settings. Reconfigure the SSID and Security settings. Im trying to figure out my wirleless password but i cant what can i do

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. If you need your Wep/Wpa Password (Passphrase) we can access the Wireless Settings Page of the router to obtain the information needed.

To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access your router you need to use a computer that is connected to it. Open a Browser then type192.168.0.1 or http://routerlogin.net. The Default username is admin and the password ispassword. Password is case sensitive.

Go to the Wireless Tab select Wireless Security under the Security Mode you will see thereNetwork Key (Wep/Wpa Key) or Passphrase. The Network Key serves as a password or security code on your network to make it secure. Network Key is case sensitive.

Don't forget to say thanks. Thanks for using Fixya

My PSP internet connection not supported to my access point.

The SSID is the NAME of your Routers connection. So you need to know your WiFi connections Name, That's the "Access point" Security, Is IF you assigned a WEP/WAP KEY, when the router was first setup. If NO Key is set, that is what it means "Unsecured",
You need to get a Netgear router manual, for your exact model, it shows all in pictures how to do it.

Tried to configure my router for security - locked out now

but you are secure ... right?

May I suggest you get Network Magic from Cisco? Google it. Read the deal while there ...

Network Magic will allow you to do all sorts of things easily and I believe it will help you unravel the situation you find yourself in now.

I use the paid pro version and I love it.

Let me know how you make out.

Want to secure the site

First off... a manual will help you understand your options alot easier so here is a link to it: http://kbserver.netgear.com/pdf/wgr614v6_ref_man_20Apr05.pdf

You did not say specifically but I assume you want to set up wireless security. This is set in the router under wireless security and you have a few options. You can use WEP or WPA security. Either one would use a passphrase. This is set on the router and on your pc. I would also suggest doing a bit of googling on wireless security basics. It will cover not broadcasting the SID, using mac filtering, WPA and WEP security.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa
