Try holding down the fn and f8 keys or if your problem is you cannot wake from power saving mode (after your PC goes to sleep, then its probably just the driver for your video card). VISTA has some issues with certain drivers that the PC cannot wake from sleep

lindy3456, A technician will need to look at it!!! Whenever very strange things start happening that YOU know should not be occuring on the screen of your LCD display, you can most likely blame it on the "switch-mode-power-supply" being the culprit!!! Whenever contacting fixya for help, you should ALWAYS include some prior history of the monitor, such as approx total "ON" hours unit has seen during it's life, and the warranty status (in/out) If monitor can be moved to another KNOWN GOOD pc you should try that, to see if it still operates the same or does it suddenly "get well" when connected to different PC. What happens when you conncet a good monitor to your PC? Still work OK? Well, anyway it still seems to me that the SMPS is failing and will eventually not "start-up" one day soon. lmistyrel @aim.com Contact me if still not sure of how to deal with this DELL 1905FP unit. You can also read some of my other stuff in my fixya profile under 12fixlouie aka louie12fix here on fixya. Also FYI you may want to visit www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm , and www.lcdparts.net and www.badcaps.net to find out the #1 cause of LCD MONITOR problems and what some owners do to fix them. You should also visit YOUTUBE and view some video clips under "LCD monitor repair" and "LCD monitor disassembly" to understand more fully what is REALLY inside your monitor and makes your screen nice and bright!!! If this was of any interest to you ,please rate this on fixya. Bye for now.

LG LCD Monitor L1530S problems

Most screens will show nothing or go to power saving mode until the PC is turned on. The monitors need a signal in order to be 'active'.
From your description it could just as well be a problem with the PC rather than the monitor. The easiest way to find out is to connect another PC or laptop to the screen or connect another monitor to the PC unit.

Did you try pressing the Del key or F2 key when you turn on the unit to get into the Bios?

Dell flat panel monitor -power button blinks green to amber - no

One reason that this is happening could be that it is on Power saving mode. This happens when the LCD monitor detecs an incorrect timing then thats the time that the LCD goes blank and the power botton starts to blink.

what you need to do is to turn the computer off. Unplug cables attach to the LCD make sure it is also off, once done press the power botton for a couple of 30secs to a minute and then release. After doing so re-connect all the cables and make sure that both ends is tight and secure once everything is ok turn the computer on same with the monitor to check if it solves the problem.

I think your monitor is unstable. Is it showing power saving when you boot your PC? Does it show something when the Windows XP splash appears?
