I purchased a new drive for my computer because the one that i had did not even register in the computer as existing hardware, i connected the new drive and still have the same problem. It has power and sounds like it is reading discs but does not show up on my computer.

Look on the back of the drive and move the jumper to CS (cable select) or master if it on the line by itself Or slave if it on the same line as another drive.
