Re: speakers

Are you sure it's the speakers? Try checking the volume controls and/or plugging another source of sound in the jack like earphones. Maybe it's not your speakers, but your sound card.

Dell 5650 speaker issues

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your SOUND CARD dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps

Logitech z10 speakers won't turn on. I've made sure that they are plugged in and have tried several outlets to make sure it wasn't that.

It is most likely and electrical problem within the speakers themselves.
Contact Logitech to see if you can get a warranty replacement. If you go to their web site, you might be able to catch a live chat customer service. Not on a Sunday though, try Monday or Tuesday:

No sounds

Several things to try.

First. Make sure it's plugged in, turned on, and turned up. (double check, this is way more common than you think)

Second: Make sure you're sound isn't software muted (check your taskbar) and make sure the system sound is turned up (on most operating systems this is done by clicking the speaker symbol on the taskbar and dragging the slider bar up)

Third: Unplug from the computer and plug back in and reset the computer.

Fourth: Make sure your sound device is enabled (the following is for Windows 7, please reclarify if this is not your operating system). Click Start>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Sound. Right click any empty space in the sound tab box and click "Show Disabled Devices". If "speakers" are disabled, right click and enable.

Fifth: Reinstall your device drivers. You probably have a CD with the drivers, alternatively you can go to the manufacturer's website and download them from there.

Shout out if none of that works.

My daughter has this speaker system and it is not working. Is there any simply software download so I can get these things working???

Make sure that the plug is in the correct port on the back of the computer and that the speakers are firmly plugged into an outlet. If this does not fix the problem it could be your audio jack on the computer. Also go into your audio options and make sure that secondary audio is enabled. I hope this helps I know this can be frustrating.

My speakers no longer have sound, even though the green light is turned on and they are plugged in correctly

There could be several small annoyances happening here. The first thing I suggest is try hooking the speakers audio (green) cable to a different sound source, such as an MP3 player, or cd player, or a portable GPS. If any of those devices allow your speakers to produce sound, then the issue is NOT with the speakers, and you need to look at your audio drivers/settings. Make sure your audio driver is installed, and make sure your audio settings are not muted. You can call your pc manufacturer to get help in determining your driver status.

Knob to turn sound up has come off how to fix?

Well thyat does dose a problem. Putting a know back on is easy by comparison. Even finding a new know that has a better screw to hold it to the shaft is easy.

However if the whole assembly has left the main board that can be a real tough job to get it back in place.
You can try, but it might be cheaper and less frustrating to take it for repair.

First the holes have to be cleaned, taking care not to damage the tracks of solder on the board
Then strraighten and clean off the solder on the legs of the sound pot. renter the legs to the board and carefully resolder the legs to the board.
If you keep the iron on the site too long you can burn the board or even overheat the volime pot so be careful. That is why I said better to have it done by someone with the skill
Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

I had memory added to my pc so everything was unplugged. Now I can't figure out which one is the power source for my speaker bar and where it should be plugged. The speaker bar has the green light on and...

Make sure the green plug from the speaker bar is plugged into the green plug on the back of your computer. If it is plugged into the wrong jack you will not get sound. Hope this helps.

No audio device detected

Ok when you plugged in the USB sound did it "see" it... did it ask for "Drivers" Because this device MUST have drivers.. also ya may have to disable any onboard sound device ya may have via the BIOS setup menu. Generally these USB sound devices are real easy to install and use.. try it on another PC to be sure it is OK.. GL

Rear speaker does not connect

ArnoldLayne, -Make sure the blue LED on the center speaker is on -Make sure the power switch on the back of the rear speaker is on. -Move the rear speaker to within a few feet with no obstructions (including glass) and try reconnecting again. If you can connect then you have a problem with the distance or an obstruction. If you can?t then it is probably time to call Dell.
