I have a set of FR50 Motorola Talkabouts. One is working OK as I have another set of Radio Shack two ways and they will work with one of the Motorola. The other Motorola turns on OK but will not receive or transmit. When you push the call button on the good unit you hear a click on the one that is not working correctly, but that is all. Any idea as to the problem and is there anyway I can repair?
motorola radius gp300.neither will trans or rec.there is no connection between both.ptt pressed in the red light comes on .and when you key up either set there is no feedback not a whimper.there is on both sets,on the display window a speaker symbol with a line through it.are these sets muted or do they need programming for back to back opperation ...thanks for your help.STEFAN. s wales uk.
Motorola Talkabouts usually a have a CODE you can set for each channel. This is like a TPL / DPL code. If its not set the same for both radios then other radio may not receive.
GP300. Assuming they are programmed to talk to each other, ie RX and TX of each on the same frequency or they may talk through a repeater and that the TP/ DPL code are correct. If you have the Speaker icon crossed through they are probably muted, but in this case you should be able to unmute them from the keypad. Only other thing is if they are programmed for Selective Call, then they would only unmute on a call which contains their ID #. There several Selective call systems, MDC, Select V , Quick call are just some. Europe usually opts for a certain type of Select V. US uses MDC.
