Try a new cable. a shorter one. if it works with a short cable, the other cable is too long to get a decent signal.

Where is the projector connection on vaio fit

1

Insert one end of the VGA cable into your Sony Vaio. This is located on the left side of your computer.
2

Turn off the Infocus projector before connecting the opposite end of the VGA cable into the projector. The VGA input slot is located in the back of the projector.
3

Turn on the projector and allow time for it warm up.
4

Change the video output source on your computer to display through the projector. Press the "Windows" button and then "LCD/CRT" button on your Vaio keyboard to change the display source. On a Sony Vaio, the "LCD/CRT" button is usually "F7."
5

Focus the projector to most effectively display content from your computer. You can manually focus the projector or press the "Auto focus" button on the top of the projector.

The projector finds my VGA port and projects for a second or two, and then loses it, displaying the word "lost"

First check it with new best quality VGA cable. If the problem is still there, change the source connected to VGA port (i.e. Laptop or PC). Sometimes such things occur in Auto Source. Remove Auto Source from the menu for automatic selection of source. Keep the VGA port as first source to display. You will have to check it in the menu. In spite of Auto Source you can always select your desired source with source button also. If problem is still not corrected tell us the Make & model of the projector so that it can be better diagnosed.

Hey my InFocus LP530 wont detect my pc/laptop, ive changed the auto sorce select to on but still nothing, so i changed it to off and tried all sorces manually but still nothing, Any ideas?

set the pc screen resolution to a low setting.
connect the vga output on the pc to an external monitor and check that the video appears on the external monitor. change the mode of operation on the pc until it does appear.
then disconnect the external monitor at the end of the vga cable, and connect the free cable end to the projector and auto source search for the vga input signal

After switching on the projector displays message 'searching for source' then 'no source found'. Computer is connected to Optima EP7155 using vga cable.

1 check VGA cable for damage (try other cable)
2 check connections
3 make sure you have resolution on PC is faling in projectors resolution range
4 if it is laptop, make sure you have it in external monitor mode (usually Fn + F8 keys)

Need to get a torpedo projector to work with laptop

Unfortunately, there is no simple VGA-to-RCA adapter cable if you're connecting to a composite video input (usually colored yellow) or s-video input. VGA output is separate red, green and blue video and synchronizing signals, and they all need to be combined. You need a VGA-to-video converter to do this.

If the projector has component video input jacks, then you can buy a simple adapter cable.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

Problem hooking my macbook to the Powerlite 62c/82c the projector

For these types of projectors if you're planning to hook it up using you MacBook ;

You will need a converter ( from VGA to DVI )
Using the VGA cable that came with the unit when purchased ;

Connect the VGA cable on the back of the Projector and on the other of the cable you will connect the converter ( VGA TO DVI ) since for MAC systems it has DVI ports for monitors not VGA...

You can purchase the converter at any Mac store or any computer shop near you..

CPJ-D500 CANNOT BE HOOK UP TO A LAPTOP FOR WINDOWS XP

If the unit has a VGA ( PC ) input you can just get a Male / Male RGB / VGA Cable.

If it doesn't have a PC input you can get a VGA / RGB to Component Cable wich is widely availabe from most PC Shops.

Hooking projector

You will probably need a standard VGA cable. The ends look like the connection for a monitor. Take a look if you don't know what I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

There should be a port on your laptop and one on the projector. After it's hooked up you might have to toggle between the projection settings or select the correct source on the projector. Normally, there is a source or input button on the projector. If the picture isn't showing up on the projector but is on the laptop or vice versa, you'll need to toggle between settings. On my dell, it is fn (function) and the F8 key but sometimes it's the F7 key or some other F? key, just look for the LCD/CRT on the function button or the picture of a monitor looking thing. This is only if you don't see the image from the projector. Hope this helps you out!

Optoma EP716 source detection

It sounds like your module that controls the menu and the "cycling through" may not be in sync or may needs to be replaced. I had times have had to make sure the Optoma EP716 had to be first plugged in and "on" before the PC can communicate with it. Once the Optoma is "ON", then turn your PC/Notebook on. If there is no connection via USB, "S" cable and/or your VGA (be sure your PC/Notebook is set to have the external VGA "active"). Let me know if this works or not. Then we can try to move forward with other options for troubleshooting. BTW...how long have you had this multimedia and how many hours of use does it have?...JGUAM
