just bought my flash drive and never used it because when I would try to save a file to it, I would get prompt that I need to format it first. When I tried to format my flash drive, it would prompt that the disk is write protected. How am I supposed to remove the write protected? Why is it write protected when there is nothing on my flash drive?

Make sure your mp3 "HOLD" option is not on!
Its really as simple as that. The hold button 'protects' the files.

I have the same problem with my Sansa m250. I decided to take off the old songs I had on it, and put new ones on, but it won't let me. It keeps prompting me that the files are write-protected, but when I go to the property area, it is not highlighted. Where/How can I fix this??
