Question about LG TROMM WM2688H 4.0 cu.ft. Front Loading SteamWasher

Bleach not dispensing

I have an LG WMO642HW. I tried using bleach for the first time. I filled the compartment just below the top and nothing happened. All of the bleach was still there at the end of the cycle. Did I do something wrong?

Thank you for your comment, but unfortunately I checked that and it was still, 100% bleach. I actually poured it out because I was afraid that it may eventually decide to dispense when I put a colored load in.

Make sure it is actually bleach, and not water. Most models with a bleach dispenser in the drawer actually dispense the bleach by adding water to the cup and allowing the mixture to overflow into the machine- so that pure bleach doesn't land on your favorite shirt before there is any water in the machine.

WATER & SOME OF THE BLEACH DOES NOT DRAIN FROM THE BLEACH COMPARTMENT AFTER EACH WASH? HAVING TO PULL DRAWER OUT & EMPTY REMAINING BLEACH & WATER EACH TIME BEFORE NEXT USE. WHAT CAN BE DONE?

Your washer is designed to purge the bleach dispenser between loads. For example, if changing from bleach to no bleach. The residue is normal.

I have a Kenmore Model 795 refrigerator with an ice maker in the bottom drawer. We purchased the refrigerator in August of 2008 (currently November of 2010) and finally hooked up the ice maker last week. ...

The 795 model you make reference to only tells me that this is and LG bottom mount Refrigerator. There are several numbers missing from the model number. This is and example of a good part number: 79577253602 The filter for bottom mount LG units is usually in the upper RH side of the fresh food compartment. See this link: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http%3a%2f%2fc.searspartsdirect.com%2flis_png%2fPLDM%2fK0810366-00001.png (item 611E)

The weak chlorine taste should fade unless the source is from your house water supply. Let the ice catch bin fill completely once and then dump everything in it. After that your ice should be normal. I think you may be noticing the taste you get from unused plastic tubing / water carrying parts. Just so you know if anyone used bleach to clean the freezer compartment the ice maker will catch any bleach water drips and pass that immediately into the ice. (Have very long customer warranty story with repeated in home visits about how I learned about people using bleach to clean freezer compartments!)
I digressed... just dump the ice collection bin after it is full one time and then check the ice taste on any ice after that. If you think maybe the taste is originating from the freezer compartment get a box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, cut off the top of the box and leave it in your refrigerator freezer for 6 weeks then toss it in the trash.

Another note no manufacturer will tell you is if you install a cheap in line water filter before the refrigerator water connection you can make the EXPENSIVE ONE on inside of the fresh food compartment last a very very long time.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I just had a mouse surface in my holding tank how do I clean that out? do I add bleach and cycle the water softener?

The mouse must have been in one of your product bags...depending on the deterioration of the carcus; you may have already injested some of the decomposing material.
1. Turn off the water supply and remove the top cover
2. Make sure you have rubber glvoes. Drain the holding tank and remove and dispose of the remaining salt tablets/product left in the tank.
3. Yes, clean the tank with a disinfectant (bleach) and rinse thoughly. Be sure to rinse the tank...you don't want high levels of bleach in your supply lines.
4. Fill with new/clean softner tablets and return unit to service.

Water left in bleach and fabric softner after running load

You must take out the compartment and empty it out before adding any bleach the next time, there is a type of button way in the back that you press down on pull out the entire door and empty the water for the next washing. You must press down very hard the entire door does come out check out your book for instructions it is way in the back on the left hand side. This happens to mine once in a while not all the time.

Bleach spots with HE detergent

I have learned the hard way that after I wash a load with bleach, I have to remove the dispenser drawer and wash it out. The bleach in the compartment isn't always entirely used so when you wash another load, then it gets the remainder that wasn't flushed out.

Bleach not always being emptied, bleach marks on clothes, bleach sometimes runs right out when you fill it.

The dispenser works on a siphon principal. If you over fill the cup it will start the siphon and empty before it should. If that's happening you're using way too much. You only need about a tablespoon of soap, softner and bleach for a full load.

Water in soap holder after washing.

my washer is about 1 year old. It started leaving water in all the the compartments, soap, bleach and softner. I tried everything also. Nothing seemed to work. I finally took the hoses off the back of the machine, and the cold water hose screen was clogged up going into the machine. I cleaned all the screens and haven't had that problem again. I think there wasn't enough water pressure to flush out the containers. I dont think its gravity or suction, its water pressure. unless you get a blast of water into these compartments, there will always be water left in these containers.

LG TROMM WM2487 Bleach not getting fully removed after cycle

Keeping in mind that the bleach gets dispensed into your wash on the second to last rinse cycle and that most all rinse cycles are in cold water.  Is your cold water valve screen plugged causing your washer to rinse poorley?  Are you using the HE detergent?  If not maybe the washer is sudsing up to much and haveing a hard time rinsing all the suds and bleach out.

Fill the washer up with no clothes in it on a cold/cold wash setting does it take a long time to fill the washer up?  Also when it is full and agitating is there suds in the washer?

Last suggestion is if the drain is hose is alot higher than the top of the washer it might have a hard time draining out all of the bleach water before the next load

Bleach drains from compartment as soon as it is filled

Could you be putting too much bleach in? These things are usually designed to be self siphoning once the dispenser is full enough. The idea is that you half-fill it with bleach. At the right point in the cycle, the machine starts adding water, filling the dispenser up to the point where it siphons out until empty. If you overfill at the outset, the thing will empty straight away. If you're sure that isn't the cause, then take the dispenser out and check that the dam that keeps the bleach in place to start with isn't damaged (you may need to take a cover off the back of the dispenser first to see this).
