The connection between the keyboard and the mother board are loose. You need to take the phone apart and push the connection all the way back in. the connection is also connected to the screens and that might need a good push. Ive done this fix on many LG voyagers and enV's.
do the buttons on the inside work? if so maybe you dammaged the video cable to the screen. if the buttons do not work then the phone isnt recognising that you have opened it. does the external screen go blank when you open it?
same problem, broke my screen, ordered a new screen off ebay and replaced it. now it works fine most of the time but sometimes external display freezes. sometimes goes black, sometimes goes multicolor pixelated (full screen, in blocks, or lines) when this happens sometimes touchpad still works, others not. removing battery usualy temporarily fixes.
I'm having the same problem! My contract is up tomorrow though, and thank God I found out ways to work through the broken screen. My front screen is completely out! But when opening your phone only crack it a little bit until you see the back light come on, do this repeatedly until you see a picture, then slide your fingers on to the key board trying not to open the phone any more! This worked for me!!
