Brother MCF-7340 first time toner replacement

Just ran out of toner on my new Brother MFC-7340 and to replenish the toner, I am trying to find out if I need to buy both the drum DR-360 and a TN-360 toner cartridge for the first change? If I need just the toner TN-360, when will I need to change the drum DR-360? For subsequent toner changes, do I just need the TN-360?

If it is your first toner replacement you shsould only need the TN-360, as the drum should be good for about 12,000 copies. The machine will tell you when you are getting close to replaceing drum unit.

If this model comes with the drum separately of the cartridge, only replace the cartridge. There's no need to change it every time. until prints start to get lines or dots. Don't expose the drum to light too much.

I have a Brother MFC-7340 and recently replace the toner and now the background is dirty looking when I print, ie grey where it should be white! What can I do to clean it up? Thanks!!

Either you purchased a a bad quality remanufactured toner cartridge or your fuser film is damaged.

If there is some kind of debris in black color that is on printouts, your fuser film might be damaged. Have a printer technician replace it.

If there is no debris, only bad quality printouts, it's the toner cartridge that needs replacement.

I have the MCF 7340. I am getting a message - End of Drum Soon. So, I bought a new drum ($120) and installed it. Now it says Drum end. and won't print. Ive turned the machine on and off several times,...

If you open the front cover of your printer where you install the toner cartridge and press the "Clear/Back" button with it open, an option comes up on your LCD Display that says "Replace Drum?" press 1 to reset it. That should fix your problem!

Just bought a Brother MFC-7340 but there is toner all over the printed pages. Is it possible the drum and/or toner supplied was damaged?

yes. that is possible. if the machine was jossled around, the toner contained in the drum unit could leak out between the connecting points of the toner and drum unit. May cleaer it self up, or may not.
