Backlight malfunction I have a Dell Studio 1537 and sometimes the backlight on my computer goes off when I am typing. Occasionally, it flickers on and off and it does not seem to be working properly. If I am typing in the dark I can't really see the letters. What can I do to make sure that the light stays on all the time when I am typing?

The best way to check the ribbon's for your keyboard is by following these instructions directly from DELL:

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/studio1537/en/sm/keyboard.htm#wp1180346

This is a very simple process, but be sure to read through the entire process prior to starting.

The ribbon wire of the keyboard is lose contact. If you can do it by yourself, just remove the terminal then attached it again. But if you cant, then go to service center. tanx.

Vizio E480i-b2 LED TV loosing picture and sometimes shutting off

I don't think you had backlight issues like you thought you did as the set should have shut down the backlights totally as soon as it sensed over voltage or over current, I'd try a new main board and see if that fixes things up for you

CCFL backlight flickering or going out when adjusting screen

Yes you can replace the CCFL lamp.
To replace the CCFL lamp requires removing the front screen bezel, removing the LCD screen from the frame and the reflector which is located on the bottom edge of the LCD screen. The CCFL lamp is located inside the reflector and the electrical wires on the ends of the CCFL lamp are connected to the inverter board.
Replacement parts are available from these WEB sites. www.lcdparts.net http://www.lcdparts.net/adword/ledkit.aspx?gclid=COzzndCVvbYCFQFipQodrH0AJw http://www.yallstore.com

My dell Studio laptop takes too long to wake from sleep mode and the monitor just flickers when i try to switch on

If you use Windows 7, u might have hybrid sleep activated. This is similar to hibernate. When u choose SLEEP, your computer goes to hibernate. Sometimes this hibernate just hangs. You have to reboot computer.
Try pressing the power button for several seconds (10-15). It should power off the laptop.
If not, unplug the charger and remove the battery for a few minutes. Then try to start it up again.

The backlight won't turn on but occasionally will flicker.

Suggest you replace the Inverter. A Backlight goes out all at once.
90% of the time the Inverter is the hardware part at fault.

[ An LCD screen cannot produce enough light by itself.
A Backlight is used to supply the needed extra lighting.
A Backlight is a CCFL.
Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp.
Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a much smaller scale

An Inverter is used to required power for the LCD screen, and the Backlight.
Boosts power up for the LCD screen, brings it down for the Backlight.

Dell Support > Latitude D600 Notebook PC > Service Manual

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latd600/en/sm/index.htm

Replacing an Inverter is a simple job. Replacing a Backlight is not.
The Backlight is located within the LCD screen assembly.

The metal frame of the LCD screen assembly is removed along the edge where the Backlight is located, to access replacing the Backlight.

In the above list for Service Manual, click on > Display Assembly and Display Latch.

This information shows you where the Inverter is located on a Dell Latitude D620 Notebook PC.
The Latitude D620 is part of the Latitude D600 series of Notebook PC's.

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/remove-replace-lcd-screen-dell-latitude-d620-laptop/

Just one place from a quick search, that sells Inverters for a Latitude D600 series Notebook PC,

http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=2895

MATCH the part number listed that they have, to the part number on your Inverter.
You have to have THE correct Inverter.
