If you have a top-loader, there are two or three heavy-duty springs inside the cabinet that attach from the drum to the frame. If any of these has come loose, high rpms will cause the kind of shaking you describe.

We hve the same washer and had the exact same problem.. we FIXED the problem!!!
The long metal rods that the tub hangs on... (in white, greased nylon ball joints in each corner) one of these rods were out of position (the hook at the end of the rod is suppose to sit in a certain position... it was clear that one of them was out of position...) you can email me for more information if you dont understand... it is - i b ron h @ yahoo . com
We are NOT washing machine mechanics.. we just HAPPENED to stumble onto the fix!! the machine is working BETTER than it has in a LONG time! YEAH!

My maytag washer is shaking violently on the rinse cycle

I am currently having the same issue with my Maytag A482. Not sure if you have found a fix yet, or if you have replaced your washer. My washer runs fine until it nears the end of the cycle, when it begins to spin and shake violently, enough to loosen the leveling feet and rock back and forth. I pulled the front panel of the machine off (two screws near the base in the front, and two clips at the top) and ran a load through it. It ran fine until the end, when the machine started shaking violently. I did notice a few small pieces of roundish felt looking material sitting on the bottom, which after some research looks like it may be the damper pad. I found these online:
Damper pad 203956
Replacement Damper 203725 for MAYTAG Laundry Appliances A482

I am hoping this will resolve the issue, I will order them this afternoon and install them once they arrive. I really hate to replace such a good washer with a new high efficiency unit, which all seem to have terrible reviews after a few months/year of use.

My washing machine shakes during spin mode

The machine must be level or it will shake. There should be feet under the front which screw in and out. Get a spirit level and adjust the feet so it is sitting level front to rear and side to side.
Also make sure it isn't rocking slightly when it's not running - if so screw out one of the feet till it's steady. If you don't have a spirit (bubble) level compare how vertical the sides are to the wall/cupboards etc. However a level is best as even a little lean can make it shudder.
Or your putting too much washing in it!

SHAKES and VIBRATES - LG Front-loader shakes and vibrates terribly during the spin cycle. It is pounding against the walls and the dryer thats next to it. Its also very loud and it used to be super quiet...

try putting a lighter load in the washer,or you put some foam or something like that at each side of the machine to stop it hitting against the other things next to it.also try adjusting the feet at the bottom of the machine to level it out.

Washing machine shakes violently during spin

If your washing machine shakes violently or if there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

It needs to be leveled. Try adjusting the threaded feet using a standard adjustable wrench (you'll need a slender one to fit under the machine) and check the level front to back, as well as side to side.

You may need to put wood shims under the feet to level it out.

If your having the shaking problem make sure all the springs are in place if in place your going to need special toos to remove the hub assy and this task is best left up the the repair person if its just moving around the floor go to the appliance parts store and but anti-vib pads they are 4 3'' square look pad about 1 1/2 high may fit the bill

Maytag Neptune Series MAH5500BW loud noise during spin cycle.

very loud in spin cycle can mean a bad rear bearing, not something a homeowner would want to try to replace, parts would exceed 6-7 hundered dollars. you may have some extended part warr through the manufacture. still probly gonna be a 5 hundred when the labor is added in

My Maytag top loading washing machine mdl#LA412 shakes violently on spin cycle with no clothes in it, a mechanic leveled the feet but it still vibrates bad. Any suggestions please!!

The ground under one of the feet may have collapsed.
The drum may be loose.
One of the springs that support the drum may have broken.
Check the machine by just trying to wobble it on it's feet, this way you can tell if it is firmly on the floor. check that the machine is level
Look down on the drum against the body and see if it is central to the frame and just get hold of the rim and try to give the drum a shake and see if it is loose, these machines always shake a bit because of the design, they are normally used in nursing homes etc in the uk

Maytag top load washer

This solution applys to many Maytag washing machines. Perhaps not all.
Maytags have three damper pads in the bottom of the machine that must be lubricated from time to time. If they are not, they can be ripped off. They are glued to the bottom of the machine, the drum rests on top of them. When they become dry or lost, the machine shakes violently and no amount
of leveling or load balancing will fix it. Replace and/or lubricate the pads and magically it works again.

This is not a difficult repair for those that have modest mechanical skills and a few basic tools.
replacement pads and lube come in an inexpensive kit.n

I will create a web page with instructions if there is interest.
