My sister has had a Necchi sewing machine for almost 3 years. It was never out of the box until 2 days ago. I am teaching her to sew. Her machine makes a loud clicking noise when running. I have a Janome and mine is very quiet. Does her Necchi need to be oiled or is this common for this brand? Model # 3205FA which looks exactly like the 3102 in the pictures.
Thank you,
Nancy

I also have this problem, and i think it is the needle touching the hook as it turns. I know this because i can feel the needle hit the metal when i put my finger on the hook. How can i fix this? It just did this out of the blue while i was sewing.

The clicking noise could be the needle just touching the hook as it goes round or it could be in need of a small drop of oil in the raceway, unfortunately the sound has to be heard to diagnose properly and from the area it is coming from but that is what I would go for.
