Question about Goldstar KG6000R Window Air Conditioner
Most of the time, these types of units are sealed. Meaning, there are no service valves or ports to allow access to the system for charging. An experienced tech could probably do it. I have. If you have to pay someone, it's probably not worth it.
Most of the time, window unit just need a good cleaning. It's pretty rare that freon needs to be added. I've done 1 . All the others just needed a real good bath. Be sure to let it dry for at least a day before putting it back into service.
