My printer only bold

Print head of cartridge needs cleaning. Open HP Solutions Center and look for printing problems and follow instructions to print a test page and then clean the print head if the test shows a problem.
Alternatively, remove the ink cartridge and clean the print head (the rectangular metallic plate with numerous tiny holes on the underside of the cartridge) carefully using a very slightly moist cotton bud. Do not rub hard, just a few gentle wipes.
This problem often occurs when the printer has not been used for some time, or when the cartridge has been incorrectly installed.

Printer message is 'remove and check cartridge'. have done that and put in new cartridges but message stays. can print a test page but it will not print anything else

I assume something has happened during a print job and you are seeing this message on the 6110's control panel display. Either there's a "clog" in the flow of ink or an issue with the electrical contacts between the cartridge and the print carriage. Unfortunately, HP.com doesn't list this error message on the web page for 6110 errors.

You can go to the following web page and follow the instructions to clean the electrical contacts I mentioned. The problem you are seeing can also be caused by an incorrectly installed ink cartridge or one where the protective tape strip was not removed before installation.

The latter is likely if you see this error message right after you've put in a new ink cartridge. It's easy to put the cartridge in incorrectly or not to correctly latch it in place. It's also really common to forget to take the tape off before installing the cartridge.

Printing is crooked on the page...otherwise prints beautifully

Sounds like the print head / ink cartridge is not seated all the way. Open the door and check it. It also may be the wrong print head / ink cartridge. If you replaced the print head / ink cartridge recently, you may have the wrong one for your device. If it is a off brand or refilled print head / ink cartridge it may be damaged or incorrectly identified.

HP officejet 6110 printer

Open the printer, pull out cartridges and put them back. If this does not work, it means the chipset inside the cartridge is faulty, you will need to replace the cartridge in this case.

  1. Turn on the HP Officejet, and lift open the print-carriage access door. The print carriage will move into the access area. Figure 1: Opening the print-carriage access door c00034766.jpg
  2. After the carriage stops moving, push down on the top of the print cartridge to release it, and then pull it toward you out of the slot. Figure 2: Removing the print cartridge c00034767.jpg NOTE: It is normal to see ink buildup in the print cartridge slots.
  3. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging and gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab. CAUTION: Do not touch the copper contacts or ink nozzles. Install the cartridge immediately upon removing the tape to prevent ink from drying in the nozzles. Figure 3: Removing the plastic tape c00034768.jpg
  4. Push the new print cartridge into the appropriate slot at a slight angle, until it clicks into place. CAUTION: Do not attempt to push the cartridge straight into the slot. It must slide in at a slight angle. Figure 4: Inserting the print cartridge c00034769.jpg
  5. Close the print-carriage access door.
Aligning the print cartridges The HP Officejet will prompt you to align the print cartridges every time you install a new print cartridge to assure high-quality output.
  1. When the message displays, press OK . The HP Officejet will print an alignment page.
  2. Place the alignment page face down on the left front corner of the glass with the top of the page facing the left side.
  3. Press OK . The HP Officejet will align the print cartridges and display Alignment Complete .
