Question about Kenmore 16973 Stainless Steel Dishwasher
Problem Statement - Dishwasher makes a humming sound, but does not flow water through the wash jets.
1. Dishwasher control panel functions - Entire dishwasher cycle will run.
2. Dishwasher fills - float works.
3. Dishwasher empties and fills during cycles.
4. Dishwasher heats at end.
5. Dishes are dry and soap remains in tray - Hence - my original problem statement description.
Investigations Round 1:
1 a. I disassembled and reassembled the interior wash assembly to check for damage or debris. None found. Screens are in good shape.
1b. It was hot and I needed to get the manuals - I stopped. Washed dishes by hand for 3 weeks (Yuck) - tonight new investigations:
Investigations Round 2:
2.a Removed dishwasher from counter enclosure - Uh oh it appears that I have a mouse that likes fried chicken bones - might be a country mouse.... note to self, get a trap and a bone for it.
2b. After some study, I think I have a good idea of the things underneath.
2c. disconnected the drainage line - no debris or plastic - felt into the pump area... no obvious damage, can spin whatever you call a pump's little blades on spindle thingy.
2d. Took off the motor and with it the white assembly embedded into it. Removed (pump well?) screen. No debris.
2e. The little transmission like gear at bottom of well is not damaged, appears to turn fine without any resistance. (maybe it shouldn't?).
2f. Looking at motor assembly - do not see damage that is obvious - but I'm clueless - doesn't smell burnt.
2g. Looking at the white pump wheel assembly thing... it turns, a little resistance... not sure if I felt a little grinding at the beginning - may have but wasn't sure what it should feel like. Tried to remove this part... couldn't and didn't want to force it.
I stopped here - re-assembled everything - gave the motor a light "technical tap" with my hammer. - re-installed in counter. Tested... still same problem (so much for the tap).
My questions / thoughts - is it likely that the motor is just broken? If so, is the white pump assembly thing embedded within the motor a removable thing? or does all come together? - Maybe white pump assembly wheel shouldn't spin freely... not sure about that.
How can I fix this without buying parts that are the wrong ones.
Hopefully one of you very smart guys can help me out. If so, it will be very very much appreciated.

Motor has gone out..just like mine...Make sure u have voltage going to the motor, (disconnect the plug from the motor) and use an electric meter to make sure you have voltage going to the motor. If so the motor has either gone out or has been blocked by something! If no noise except clicking then motor has gone out. Looking at about $150 for motor.
