SOURCE: Loud humming noise as fridge is running

My hot point freezer fan was making a variable hollowing sound as well. I talked to a repair guy and he mentioned that the bushings seem to wear out on the fan motor located under the ice maker. I ordered a new motor $82.70 and replaced it myself. Took about an hour to replace and it fixed the problem.

SOURCE: Sears Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Loud humming noise

That sound is usually your icemaker calling for water. you can turn off your icemaker by lifting the little arm on the icemaker. As the icemaker calls for water the valve will be activated and will hum. This sound is usually not very loud. If your valve is making that much noise you may consider replacing the valve. The part number for you water inlet valve is #2315533 The retail price is $60.18 . I do have these on hand and available to ship out today if you need one. Please just let me know. You may also consider replacing your filter if your refrigerator has one. Thanks and I hope this will fixYa

SOURCE: Kenmore top-freezer fridge makes a loud grinding

Remove the back wall of freezer. If the coils are frost solid youll need to advance the defrost timer(top inside refrige part) w/ a small flat screw driver, the defrost heater should glow red within a good minute. also youcan turn blade to be sure it is bracked and unobstructed.

I have a Kenmore dryer, model number is 11074602300 and it only works for a few minutes then stops. Can you assist me what seems to be the problems? Thanks. Kimberly

if the dryer just stops most likely it's the motor, the only way to tell is by starting the dryer until it stops and check with a meter to see if power is still going down to the motor, what happens when it stops and you start it again?does it run or is it dead, what happens if you move the timer by hand after it dies,is it on time dry or auto?try running it in different spots on the timer,it could be a few things.like i say you need to get in there with a meter to find out,i've found in most cases it's the motor when this happens but don't go out and get one and put it in until you know for sure,if you start it when it dies does it make a loud humming noise?let me know what you find, try moving the timer and try to restart it and let me know what you find

My Kenmore Dryer stops before the time I set is up.

Sounds like the operating thermastat may be bad letting it get too hot and causing the motor breaker to kick out . When it cools it will start again. Check all thermastats.

Gas dryer makes loud hum

Sounds like you may have a motor issue, they can get lint trapped inside, and it causes the motor to overheat, and eventually go out. You can remove the top, then the front, and see if thats the problem. Usually, once the motor starts making noise, its time to replace. Right now, the packings in the motor are cold, and once they heat up, they stop making noise, so it could last quite a while.

if you have ice buildup then the fridge may be low on freon.
or there is dust clogging around the pump or fan is not running.
remove the bottom or back and look around the compressor.

Sounds like the freezer fan is rubbing some wires or possible some foam insulation around the fan. I would look into the freezer compartment fan and go from there. The fan Will Shut off when you open the doors. Let me know how you make out and if you need anymore help.

Thanks,
Bill
