Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

Carriage jam After installing a new black printer cartridge, my HP officejet 7310 printer (less than a year old) came up with a "carriage jam" readout, two days later. I open the access door and the carriage is all the way to the left (the opposite side of where it should be) and will not return. I'm not sure just WHAT to do!

Hello,

thanks for your problem.
first of all you should try to reset the system.
follow these steps to reset:
1. switch off the unit.
2. Disconnect the unit from power supply.
3. Disconnect any other units connected to it.
4. Leave it disconnected for 30 minutes.
5. it should reset itself then start again.

If it doesn't help then you will need to replace the best cartridges.

Thanks

What you need to do is gently slide the cartridge from the left to the right. Also, check to make sure there are no stray pieces of paper stuck in it. Mine had a packing peanut stuck in it causing the carriage not to move.

Exactly what parts am I cleaning for a 'carriage jam' on an HP Officejet 7310 printer

the carriage jam error is meaning the path that the printhead is sliding from side to side. You might have a small piece of paper causing an issue.

Where is the carrriage located on my hp 7310 officejet printer?

The carriage is the unit that holds your ink cartridges, usually parked on the right side. When you have carriage stall or carriage jam you usually need to clean the clear plastic strip that runs across behind the carriage assembly, and make sure there are no scraps stopping the travel of the carriage.

Carriage Jam

If you can get the covers off. push down on piece that is blocking the cartridges. Otherwise, it is uneconomical to repair.
