My zte max xl charges the home button flashes on and off vibrates when u plug charger in but will not boot up or turn on

Bad battery or settings

it needs a new charger

Might be a problem with your charger. Try changing that. May also be malware, if the charger thing doesn't work, try master reset.

Power & home button hold @ the same time till it powers off

Check up battery is fully charged.or charging when charger in plugged in.If not charging check up charger working with some other phone .
If the battery is old enough replace battery or check up micro usb in phone thro' mechanic.

Two possibilities

• The battery is not charged and/or completely connected
• The phone is dead

Try turning it on with the battery in AND with the phone plugged in to the wall charger. If it continues to do the same thing, return or exchange it.

Sounds like you are in a "Boot Loop". Let's try to break the Boot Loop. Plug the device into the charger, then press and hold the power button for 60 seconds - make sure the device is OFF after the 60 seconds. Let change overnight. Next Day, unplug the device from the charger, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, wait 30 seconds, press and release the power button normally, the device should be out of the Bootloop.

Without the Model number, it's difficult to provide a solution. However, you can try charging the device completely. Usually this issue occurs when the battery in the device is drained out. If the issue still persists, then you can try using a different Battery or a charger with the device.

plug in your xl via the usb cable to your computer and let it charge a few hours, then press and hold the power button for up to 15 seconds.

do not use the car or home charger to intially charge your xl. they are to maintain the battery, not a rapid charge.
