Yes, I removed the battery and everything, now I can access BIOS and launch stuff from floppies. All I need is the BIOS and I'll know what to do.

If you flash the wrong BIOS, usually the PC won't start. Are you able to get into a BIOS screen ?

I went to
http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socketam2/ecsMCP61SM-GM_downloads.shtml

I would do it the first of the month, when the bandwidth will be renewed?. You have an E-machine... not well supported.
Any flash should save the old BIOS on the floppy too.

Some motherboards allow you to restore the BIOS firmware back to the previous version.
To get the BIOS firmware you need to go to the motherboard manufacturer's WEB site to download the BIOS firmware.

Download the manual from the motherboard makers' website. If the information isn't contained in that, then you need to be more specific about the information you need.

Flashed bios and now pc will not post

Hi!

You got a bad flash. You need to have the original bios firmware from the motherboard official support website.

You need to restore it using the DOS base method. Make a start-up disk and put there the bios firmware.
Insert the disk when you turn on your computer.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for reaching Fixya.

Please leave comments for further assistance.

Dear sirs, i put wrong parameters in bios. so

99% of all bios don't need to be flashed or updated. Unless you have a specific problem with your bios and you go into the manufacturer's website and can read about the bios updates and see your problem as one of the ones that the bios update fix, don't update your bios. It's not going to make your computer run any better, it's not going to cure all the problems you have. About half the time it just messes up your computer or can ruin it. A lot of motherboard manufacturers have come up with Windows based programs to flash the bios but if they fail then you have to go back to the old method and they usually require having a floppy disk which most computers don't come with anymore. If you're one of those people that want to play around with your computer and do a little experimenting you're must better off to go format your harddrive, wipe it clean and start all over. Then you can go find all your new driver updates, software updates, find all the files you just deleted off your computer cause you forgot to backup before you formatted it. It's a lot more fun than flashing and updating your bios because your computer will still work when you get done. Sorry dude if the pin reset doesn't work the only option is possibly putting a new bios chip on the motherboard but I haven't seen one of those in years. Not sure they even still make them detachable and you'd have to find a motherboard to get one off of.

Can't boot after upgrade bios f6

If you flashed the BIOS and it stopped for whatever reason or you flashed the wrong BIOS version, there is nothing that you can do except to replace the BIOS IC.
  • If the system has a boot block to restore the original BIOS, use it. Refer to your motherboard documentation.

  • If not, you will need to contact the system or motherboard manufacturer for a replacement.

Can u add a floppy drive to an emachines?

according to this, the motherboard is an ECS MCP61SM-GM

http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socketam2/ecsMCP61SM-GM.shtml

it says it has a floppy header onboard for adding a regular 3.5" floppy drive.

you can also find usb floppy drives that you can attach and use when you need without opening the machine.

How do I reset the cmos settings for the msi motherboard ms 6570?

If you're unable to enter your BIOS, or if you set a system password in the BIOS but forgot it, you might be able to fix the problem by clearing the CMOS memory. On some motherboards, this requires you to turn off and unplug your PC, disconnect the CMOS battery for a few hours, replace the battery, and turn on your PC again. Other motherboards have a CMOS clear jumper pin that you must move to a temporary position and then return it to its original position.

Post back if you still need more help.

Thank you
