First, check your actual display driver software. Make sure you have most current driver.

Also, check the menu settings in the monitor itself through the buttons on the bottom or top of it. You can also verify on the internet through the model and serial number the actual specifications of the monitor.

If it is capable of supporting that resolution and the video card driver is up to date, then what you have to do is check to see that the driver for the monitor is also installed. If you download it from the manufacturer's website and apply it, it will fix the problem unless your monitor suffered a surge and cannot display that resolution.

It means your video card does not support it. Upgrade. But make sure your monitor is able as well.

The game does not support my computer's resolution

Most games allow you to change the resolution in settings and will automatically adjust the settings, as needed. the other options are to manually change you resolution settings in Windows or to play the game in windowed mode, adjusting resolution size, as needed.

Resolution notice

Your monitor is not running in its native resolution, so there is notification to change your display resolution, then you have to check driver for your video card. Upgrade the driver fot your video card. Where will be the setting to change to 1440 x 900.

A new ASUS VE208T with max 1600x900 resolution....the problem is that that resolution is not an option in my display properties. I have resolutions higher and lower than that, but the closest setting is...

The resolution option can be found by right clicking on the desktop and click properties. Then go to the settings tab. That is where you will be able to adjust the resolution settings for your monitor.

How do I get my gateway fpd1975w tft lcd monitor to not stretch images images across the screen?

You need to make sure your computer's display resolution is set to 1440x900, which is the monitor's native resolution. Other resolutions will result in fuzzy displays or, as you're seeing, distorted images.

Right-click on an open area of the Windows desktop (that is, not over any icons), then select "Properties" from the pop-up menu. Click the "Settings" tab and you'll find a slider adjustment to set the resolution. If 1440x900 is not offered as a resolution, you'll need to upgrade your video card (or add a video card if you have a motherboard with integrated video). Most newer computers support that resolution, but some older systems may only go to 1024x768.

I cant fit the whole image on the screen. The options to adjust only allow me to adjust the width...it wont let me show both the top of my windows open AND the start button.

Your resolution may be set to high on the computer. Or you have a standard screen resolution set and since the monitor is a wide screen, it is cutting it off.
Try a different resolution 1440x900 is what the va1930wm uses.
If using a laptop with a standard type screen on it, you may have to set the laptop to just light the monitor to allow this setting to take.
Since this monitor is a wide screen, it may have options in the menu to stretch or zoom on an image if the resolution is not set to a wide screen format.

Sharp Aquos Resolution

According to the manual for the TV, you need to change the resolution on the computer itself first.
The computer resolution should be 1024 X 768 at 60Hz or 1360 X 768 at 60Hz.

After the adjustment made on the laptop, then try the resolution change option.

My step father put something on the computer to make every thing larger but now my dawn of war platinum wont work

Hi!

You need to to right click on desktop screen area and select graphics properties option from there and adjust your screen resolution to 1280X768 or something.
Alternatively, you can go to display in control panel and from there adjust your screen resolution and make it some where around 1280X768 or something.

And you will then be able to play the game you want to.

Please ask for any further clarifications.

Please rate this solution as FixYa if found useful.

Thanks
