Question about LG Refrigerators

Can someone help me pls

I have an LG refrigerator model number LFX23961 my problem is it stop getting cold and we have a tech look at it and he said we had a blockage, We have reason to believe thatsmall line from the evaporator to the dryer is blocked. The line outside diameter is 1/16 I can't find that line anywhere, Can I replace it with a 3/16 line? Will this be a problem. I appreciate it someone can answer me. Thank you so much Alina

I disagree with the diagnosis. I think you problem is with the evaporator fan(Freezer/refrigerator)ciculating fan, this problem is very hard to diagnose because the fan still spins, but not fast enough to circulate chilled air thru the freezer and refrigerator. This problem I have just described is true unless the evaporator coil is not getting cold.if the evaporator coil is not getting cold then I agree with the tech. The answer is no as long as you can silver solder the splice.

Our refrigerator stopped working after a power outage.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

Refrigerator stopped running with no warning. Problem is NOT with the wall outlet or the breaker switch.

The Lg Refrigerator doesn't cool. Its condenser is working; air flow to bottom freezer can be felt but not freezing. Condenser keeps working so the sensor seems right too. Evaporator leaking?

Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...

I have an lg model tfx2965sb and it keeps freezing in the refrigerator section. I have ohmed out the damper and watched it physically function. I have replaced the main pcb, and the thermister. I have...

Have you checked the cold control for the food compartment? This has a bi-metal probe on it. When they start acting up they either make the unit run to cold or to hot. The common name in the field for that is the cold control. I was not able to cross your model number as written above so my comments may not apply to your LG unit. You mentioned that you have changed a thermistor but not where it was and in the food compartment or in the freezer section. Trying to help here.. but the model number is slowing me down a bit. If it is the right model number I will do some more digging. 1st attempts came up empty.

Thanks for using FixYa!
