If you have a V-6 engine you will have 2 knock sensors mounted in the valley under the intake manifold. It is for ignition timing as stated in the first answer. Not as in a bad engine. They will need to be replaced.
Knock sensor picks up engine knock.( knocking not good for engine) ignition timing, poor gas octane can cause engine knock. The sensor picks up any knocking and adjusts the engine timing, fuel ratio via the engines computer. So it simply sends info to computer to prevent ignition knock. Knock sensor will be located somewhere on the engine block...its a bolt on part..good luck. Hope this helps.

pore quality fuel will also set that code. dont get into too big of a rush to replace it . run a couple tanks of good gas first but here is a diagram that might help you out

there is a small cable in the trunk behind the carpet that,when pulled, is a manual release. Look behind the carpet on the side of the cars gas tank. hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer.

The quickest way to determine the cause is to visit a local parts store, of a major chain such as Autozone, etc. most of these offer a free computer scan that will reveal the source of the engine light. In the mean time, try refueling with a full tank of fresh fuel from a different source than you used the last time. sometimes water or other fuel problems can cause the light to come on.
And yes the loose fuel cap may cause the light. If you have more than 60,000 miles on your car, it may require some tune up parts such as oxygen sensors and such. CHECK YOUR WARRANTY!!! most states require the manufacturer to replace the emission related parts at mileages of 100,000 or even 150,000 so dont buy something you could get for free!

there is an ipd/m fuse box behind the battery of my 2004 infiniti g35 sedan. I blew a fuse and couldn't find it. So remove the plastic panel that is right next to the windshield washers when the hood is open. You'll see an entirely new fuse box. So all in all, there are three fuse boxes... one by your feet on the driver's side, one in front of the battery, and one behind the battery. hope it helps

That happen to me too i just fixed last week
the thing is that you have to change the fuse in infiniti there is 3 place of fuses first one is inside the car, Second one is infront of the battery and the third one is next to the battery so for the radio and A/C one is the infront of the battery open and change the fuse number 15 that will be fixed...
