Sabrent USB DVD Maker doesn't capture audio

I can connect the right/left autio cables into a TV and I get autdio fine. But when I connect them to the USB adapter and try to capture video, I get video, but no audio, just a bit of static. I think I have a defective USB adapter. Any ideas? Thanks.

Usb emp audio device cannot start code 10 error message appears in device manager. also usb device does not show up for a device when I launch video studio

Hi lynnembryant,
Your problem seems to be related to the driver your capture card uses. I would recommend updating them.
Here are the links:
For Windows XP, Vista and 7 32 bits : http://sabrent.com/drivers2/USB-AVCPT-32bit-XP-Vista-Win7.zip

For Windows Vista and 7 64 bits : http://sabrent.com/drivers2/USB-AVCPT-64bit-Vista-Win7.zip

You seem to need another driver as well for the audio, here it is : http://sabrent.com/drivers2/USB-AVCPT-USB-EPM-286x.zip

You might also want to check their support website here : http://sabrent.com/support/.
Cheers!

What are the red yellow and white cords for i have a xbox

The side with 3 RCA jacks, red, white, and yellow, is for connecting the USB to a composite video cable. The black connects to an S-video cable; you would still use the red and white plugs to carry the audio. At least the older XBox's had composite video outputs; you just need the composite video cable (which you may have as they came with many video devices (VCRs, DVD players, video cameras).)

If you need to connect this Video capture device to another type of output, you will need a converter. Component to composite video would be one option. However, you will have signal loss with any converter.

I hope this helps.

No sound in kword dvd maker when doing video capture

if using Windows make sure to check the Sounds and Audio device Properties by Right clicking the speaker icon on the right side of taskbar. Check all tabs for Recording settings, there may be recording tests on some pages...check Advanced rbuttons for recording settings.
note settings prior to modification so you can change them back if needed.

Sabrent DVD Maker - USB USB-AVCPT

I just found a solution to the same problem... within the dvd software under the "capture" tab there is a settings button. You have to switch the input from "tv" to "composite". Was going nuts for hours. Hope this helps.
