check out ur pump sounds like its scized up check it out give the pump a good hard wack if this sortis it u will feel and hear pump running if its scized up bad u will need to replace it
Check that the overheat thermostat is working [i.e. the wires are connected] - If in doubt connect the terminals together to bypass. Check that the air extractor fan is working and that the coaxial pipes have no gaps. Check the air sensor plastic tubes to the fan are connected and intact Check the central heating valves below the boiler and not turned off
Assuming this is a combi boiler and you mean that the main gas burner comes on then off:- How long after - 5-20 secs check overheat thermostat Check the wires to it are firmly in place i.e. making a connection. If Ok? then you can short this out by joining the wires together - do with boiler OFF at mains electricity Longer - say 1-2 mins check secondary heat exchanger for blockage - usually furred up inside & only solution is replacement
sounds basic, but make sure the electrode is in the pilot flame check the overheat thermostat is not jammed on disconnect and join wires together for temporary override check and run boiler.
the problem there a relay stuck or thermostat bring on the pump & you can lower your high limit aquastat!! also the flow valves can bypass hot hot water risers time to put in a seperate water heater domestic coil are not energy efficient !!!! aquastat high limit set @ 180f deg low limit set @ 140f deg!!!
good luck!!! tim
