Low voltage shorts can be a real pain to find!!! i would try a process of ellimination: first i would try to elliminate the thermostat. then id look for a wire that is vibrating on something in the cabinet.

SOURCE: new install. 40 seconds on. 20 seconds off.

Its normal that the air coming out is warm cause you set it to heat mode. Check your setting temperature, it is normal for the unit to shutdown when it will attain the setting temperature and operate when the temperature is lower than the setting temperature(heat mode).

Gree Mini-Split shutting down randomly and must be restarted manually.

This link has a suggestion that it may be a thermostat issue. Try running it without to test the theory. Another suggestion is too much or too little refrigerant.

Unit shuts off completely after about 5 minutes. both coils are clean. cools well until it shuts off. will restart after approx 20 min. Low charge ?

This looks like a mini-split. If so, that sounds like it could be your issue, especially if everything is clean as you say. Specifications call for checking your charge levels every year. If it has been that long or longer, I'd definitely do that. Running low can damage the compressor.

However there could be another issue; Mini-splits (but not all) can have a de-humidify and a defrost cycle. A quick look up of the model says it does have a dehumidify ability. It's possible that the sensor has gone bad, and the unit tries to cycle the de-humidify or defrost cycle and it can not; or, there is a valve that switches the unit back and forth and the valve is stuck, so it might be a sensor for the valve which indicates it did not switch modes or it needs a recharge. Twenty minutes sounds about right to do a dehumidify cycle.

If it has a heat cycle, try that and see if it will switch to heat cycle, or just turn on dehumidify if it can do that, and see what it does. Either way, it will need a service call if you can't work on it yourself. If you know your stuff, you could try unplugging the unit and open it up to find the sensor and test it. I don't know the unit, so I can't point out where these are, but, they should be obvious, and have part numbers. If it's the valve not switching, you'll need a tech as the freon will need to be removed, the valve replaced, and then a vacuum pulled, and the freon replaced. For a 10k unit, depending upon cost of replacement it might not be worth the service call. You could call the manufacturer and only replace the bad half, if it's a mini-split, might cost about the same as a service call.

I hope this helps; but, if it does not, please comment (below your question) and add more information as you get it.

My split system keeps kicking out it runs for a while if i shut down and restart but compressor kicks out after 5 min. it is contrlled with remote

Hi,
The unit is usually low on freon when this happens...the machine will over ride the freeze stat and the low pressure control for five minutes and then shut down...
Have a tech. check the system for leaks and repair them.
Then recharge the system and you'll be good to go...

AmcorAire Duo. Compressor runs, but fan will not. system shuts off after a rew minutes (overheating coils?). Has the fan burned out or is there a relay that needs to be re-set?

There is a solid state fan capacitor for your system, I would change that part first.
We stock a complete line of parts for Amcor Mini Split Systems.
