The key should just clip back onto the board.

If not, there usually is some sort of rubber where the key was. Use a bit of double-sided sticky tape, or better: Blu-Tack (just a little) removable adhesive, and place in/on the rubber on the keyboard. Place the key in place and push down firmly.

If that doesn't resolve it, consider buying a new keyboard (about $20 and must be from same EXACT model) and put in place.

Hope this helps.

Im on my niece acer aspire 5534 laptop and her mouse touchpad isnt working can u help

There should be an image on the number or function rows of the keyboard that is colored the same color as the FN key. On that look for the one that resembles the touch pad, press and hold the FN key then press the touchpad key to activate the touchpad. I think it is the F7 key.

My touchpad is not working on my acer aspire 5315 my cat walked over keyboerd when i was using it and curser has gone what can i do

Hi there,
Your Touchpad is disabled, thats why its not working, to enable again, simply press Fn+F7 Key, you will see a small blue icon on F7 key, with a finger pointing, its basically a short cut for enabling/disabling Touchpad,
If it doesnt works, restart your laptop once, and restore the BIOS settings to default, save the settings and reboot laptop, and it should be working again,
Feel free to reply to this post if you require more assistance,

I used my acer aspire 5315 and restored to factory default using empowering technology and now everytime i start up it keep trying to reinstall the restore programe that came with the computer

There are two basic ways to restore Acer 5315 PC Notebook to the original setting. The first method you can try to pressing the key Alt + F10 for 5 times while startup process appears on the Acer screen. Usually this way will restore the original setting automatically.
And the next method you may need to use system restore at the first time you’ve got your Acer 5315 laptop. Here are steps to follow:
Log on as the Administrator => Start => All Programs => Accessories => System Tools => and click the System Restore. System restore will run and here you should see the Welcome System Restore page appear. Click Restore my computer button to an early time if it’s not already
selected. Click next to continue the steps.
There is on your Acer 5315 laptop screen a Restore Point page appear, you can select it and then click the most recent system checkpoint it, click a restore point list. After you click the Next button, System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that
System Restore will create. Click OK.
For the last step click next button on the Confirm Restore Point Selection page. Now the ‘System Restore’ will restore the previous Windows XP configuration on your Acer 5315 OS system. Just finish it by restarts your Acer laptop.
Now log on again to your Acer 5315 PC Notebook as Administrator and watch the System Restore Restoration Complete page

How do I physically replace the keyboard on my Acer Aspire 5920?

If the keyboard is malfunctioning due to factory fault, you can request a warranty repair from Acer depending on the status of the warranty.

If keys have fallen off or if the damage was caused by a liquid spill, the warranty option doesn't apply.

If you already have the keyboard, you should be able to find repair documentation on Acer's site.

There should be several screws on the back of the laptop. A few of them might have an icon near them that indicates the purpose of the screw. If you see any icons that resemble a keyboard, you should take those screws out. Then you will be able to take the keyboard out and replace it. Remember to be gentle during this process as the motherboard will be temporarily exposed.

If warranty is still valid, contact the shop where you bought it, or contact acer..

Did something happen to the laptop? Fallen, water on it?
