It might depend on what distance you expect the flash to travel in order to light the subject. How many times havbe you benn to outdoor cocerts and seen flashes going off Many of those pics are goin to be dark because the flash is unlikely to reach that distance to be effective and the only light available to the sensor is the ambient light.

You need to observe what settings the camera reports like F numbers and speed numbers 1/30 1/60 at 1/60 and below the flash is activated and the aperture might be F16 the rule of thumb is higher the number smaller the hole, which with flash this setting would be ok

if it goes to F4 5 or even 8 it may be too restictive and cause under exposure.
The ISO setting is also helpful to understand here to The ISO is like the old film speed number ASA 100 daylight film ASA 400 is more sensitive to low light so change your ISO (ASA) setting to a higher number and see if that helps you take a better picture

Cheers

I have dropped camera once, since after while clicking pictures at night in absolute dark, several round white small circles or spots are appearing on the image. But in full light area and in daylight...

Are these flash pictures? Are the spots in different places on each picture? If the answer to both questions is yes, the spots are dust particles in the air reflecting the flash back into the lens.

All the night time pictures are black.

number 1: do you have the flash on? if you don't that's what happens, the snapshots taken at night will be dark.
number 2: even with the flash on, the background will most likely be dark being that the light from the flash isn't going to travel far enough to for you to see every detail. also the closest thing to the camera or the subject will be brighter of course because the light hits it first.
and if that's still not it then it's probably a defect in the camera or maybe a lens error. it could just be a sorry brand name and you need to get a better camera. when all else fails, take it to be repaired.

Pictures to dark at night

no there isn,t.but these cameras do not have enough flash to take great pictures at night, for one you cant be to far away, two you have to have a subject in range of the flash, other wise all you get is darkness.but at the most 10ft is the farthest you can go and still get a great shot at dark.also use auto mode when taking pictures, because it adjusts to light-dark etc.i know this because i have the same camera and its awesome, plus im a photo technician and ran a photo lab for 3years selling digital cameras. good luck, hope i helped

Dark pictures

Be sure that you are capturing images in the right shooting mode. For example, if shooting a night scene your image will be underexposed and dark if the image is captured in the Program Auto mode for regular photography, or in any mode other than Night Scene. Be careful that when capturing images, nothing is obstructing the flash.
