Wrong region??? Please help

My lx9000r has suddenly decided to start saying 'The region coding of this disc does not match that of the player' when in the past the same discs had played without a problem. Can you please help me rectify this, thanks.

Re: Wrong region??? Please help

No..I bought it form Clive Peters in Brisbane Australia, I called up Phillips who are no hlep at all and mentioned about the setting where for over seas he said it should still play disc's then said it was out of warranty and that was that. I will no longer purchase Phillips products and have informed my Boss who deals with them and we are no longer going to stock their items due to their lack of support and rude customer service if you can call it that. You would expect a $2000 product to perform better than this

The player you bought was marketed for another country - did you purchase it from an online vendor?

Philips lx9000r 25S ome theater system Has suddenly stopped playing DVDs from Region 2 (no disc error) It will play DVDs from region 0 and CDs. Do not know access code, so cannot follow manual to change...

The Access Code is 0000 as default unless it's been changed

I think you'll find if it's not playing Region 2 DVDs that it's the same old Philips fault in that the laser has gone / is going.

When I put movie in it says wrong region

Home theatre systems are usually made and distributed based on regions. Usually there are about 7 regions and players are usually distributed to each region based on the type of disc which will be distributed in that region.
The disc you have is supposed to be distributed to a different region but has found its way to you. Usually the formats on which the discs are made are usually different from region to region. Although there are methods to change these devices to work with any unit.
Hope this solution has been helpful;?

Apparently they are locked to region 4 and I have bought region 1 DVDs so they won't play

In most models the unit cannot converted to multi-regions.So it will play only in the specified region in which it is applicable to.But in some unit models there is a procedure to turn the unit to multi region so it can play all region dvd.On all models the procedure to convert the unit to multi region is different.As you have not mentioned the exact model number of your unit.t will not be easy to give exact details.If in case there is a procedure to convert your unit to multi region.

Thanks. keep updated for any more can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Have dvd that say check regional code how do i do this ?

sounds like you have purchased the wrong region coded dvd`s when you bought them from amazon? if you are in the US you can only play Region 1, Europe is Region 2 and so on. Unless you purchase a mlti region machine which is obviously not what you want to do then the only other play of playing the wrong region discs is to buy a cheap dvd player which has "DivX" compatability which will play any region for you.

Hi i was after a no region code for a dvd player!!!

To unlock the DVD code its defends upon what region you belongs or from were you bought the DVD unit. Just click this site to hack the region code ;

To keep it simple, this means that DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation on within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. This means that all DVD players sold in the U.S. are made to region 1 specifications. As a result, region 1 players can only play region 1 discs. That's right, the DVDs themselves are encoded for a specific region. On the back of each DVD package, you will a find a region number (1 thru 6).
The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs

Hope it may help you;

Why does the set not play certain discs (wrong region code)?

You need to check the dvd player manual for region restriction, for region restriction dvd's you cannot play on your dvd player so check the region supported dvd's whcih you can play on your dvd player.

Kenwood DVD player 5 speaker system

There is nothing wrong with it, it is set to only play in the region it was purchased from. That is how all DVD players are made, with regional settings. No repair is going to help, you just need a DVD player from the proper region to play those disc's.
