The first thing to try is to clean the laser lens- you can use a qtip and alcohol, or a qtip. They also see disc cleaners that work well. Aside from that, you might have to adjust the laser head, which requires taking the cover off the unit and tweeking the adjustment screws. Of course, the first thng to check is to see if the unit will read older dvd's that have worked before. If they don't work, the unit will have to be cleaned, troubleshot, and fixed.
