Question about Tomtom One XL GPS Receiver
Message comes up "searching for valid GPS signal...."
This has only started yesterday and the unit is in full coverage area
OK heres what it might be GPS units sometimes do their pown thing and get themselves lost as well as losing you. Pay back time lol.
Check that the battery is fully charged
Check that the BAUD rate and PORT are correctly set ( this often happens for reaso=ns unknown , but low battery or flat battery can do this) Check the port and baud rate in the manual or use the autosearch option.
The SIIRF chip has experieced a spik that has damaged the Chip ( you hope not!) it's an expensive fix.
TIP Dont plug the GPS intop Car power until AFTER engine is started.
Often better to charge it with an AC charger at least 6 hours prior to use
