SOURCE: gas flows and heater ignites with the light button

This sounds like a bad thermocouple, what this does is sense flame by heat. You can try to clean it with steel wool and make sure it is tight where it goes to the gas valve. Make sure it is on the top center pert of the flame as this is the hottest part of the flame. If cleaning does not work replacing it will.

When I release the control knob after ignition my flame goes out immediatly

Most likely the thermocouple. Check to see if anything has come loose, it not, you will probably have to replace it. Most are pretty inexpensive.

Have 85000 but all-pro propane heater. starts fine good flame, release the gas valve button, heater shuts down no gas

If you have a thermocouple and standing pilot as described the gas cannot flow full to the burners with the gas valve button depressed because the position of the gas valve to allow the button to be depressed is not in the 'on' position....its in the 'pilot' position.

Are you sure you cleaned the 'thermocouple' and not just a 'spark ignition electrode' ?? One with spark ignition will not have a gas valve that has a pilot position.... Kinda confusing and conflicting data to sort through ..... Hmmmm....

If you have the spark ignition style, the problem COULD be in the 'flame rectification' circuit. IF it has the ignition electrode, the other side of the furnace will contain the 'flame sensor' that senses the flame and completes the ground circuit of the electronic module through the flame. Its not doing it, so either it is oxidized up inhibiting its ability to conduct electricity through the flame or there is residual oxidation within some of the terminal connections of the ground circuit.

IF what you have is the 'standing pilot', the first suggestion is to replace the thermocouple. A more remote possibility is the gas valve has a defective safety coil that drops out when you release the pilot button.

Ignition failure.

if furnace fires up then immediatly shuts off check the flame sensor. make sure it is sitting far enough inside the burner box and has proper continuity. if ur getting ignition failure without having furnace fire up, check proper voltage to hot surface igniter, continuity within igniter

I have honda trx300 fourtrax wont fire while starter button held in but starts when let up

Check schematics for a hot start side and if it is chase down that wire to see if the line for a hot start is really there? Is crank speed fast or slow. My bike if it isn't above 400 Romo's I have nothing. A dead stick, the computer will not help me, I am on my own.

The heater doesn't ignite.. I push and hold the button.. but doesn't ignite

If you mean it won't stay running after the unit actually starts...meaning as soon as you release the red button it shuts off then you would need to clean the end of the thermocouple that screws into the gas valve....not the end that goes into the flame.
Remove the small nut and clean the end with a small wire brush or scrape some metal off with a knife, then scrape some metal inside the valve where the end of the thermocouple seats.

But if you mean it will not start at all then you need to make sure gas in getting through the valve.

Rinnai burner goes out when ignition button is released

The thermocouple [s] require replacement, or in my experience try servicing the unit first. There is an injector for the main pilot and a secondary injector for the flame thrower ignition. Both of these are prone to blocking due to dust and can be enough to shut the unit down. Although usually this is thermocouple related as you are manually keeping the unit running when you hold down the button, if the tcouple is broken it wont send enough millivolts to hold the magnetic valve open when you release the button.
Cheers
