Question about Pelco (DX8000-MUX16) (DX8000MUX16)

1 Answer

Our Pelco DX8016-500 is down. Gets through POST, but then displays "PRESS KEY TO REBOOT" It doesn't look like the computer is detecting any hard drives or even CD player. This is the 500 Gb model so there are two 250 Gb drives. Also, coming from the computer is sort of a scrambling noise every 3-5 seconds. I haven't tried getting into the case yet. I thought I'd try to get a recommendation of what to do next before I make the situation worse. Please help.

Confirm the boot order no problem in BIOS, it must be the O/S hard drive damaged. You need to send unit to nearest Pelco authorized service center for exchange HDD and re-install the O/S

It keeps tellin me no bootable device-- insert boot disk and press any key... i also dont have a disk drive all i have is a ubs flash drive spot

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

My computer is displaying 'reboot and select boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

If your computer give that message, means that you don't have a operatig system available for loading.
Your Hard Disk might not be detected or the operating system installed before was erased somehow.
Make sure that you have in BIOS the Hard Disk Drive set as Primary boot device or check if the HDD is detected in the first place. If not, make the corect setting then save your BIOS settings and reboot.

Cant get on.keeps saying operating system not found.ihave windows xp.can you tell me what to do and why its doing that? Thanks

Do you have the original start up disc? If so use it. If not there is generally a button to use at start up that will get you to a screen where you can restore your computer to a previous date. The button is usually F10 or F11 or one of the f keys. Also make sure that you don't have a disk in one of the drives. Take everything out and try starting it up. Good luck.
