My LCD screen cracked in my backpack the other day. It must have smashed into something. So, can it be fixed? Should I buy a broken one on ebay and fix it myself? Can I send it someplace to be repaired? Is it junk? HELP...

Re: Cracked LCD Screen
You can get this fixed for $60 which includes repair, 90 day warranty and return shipping by one of the Repair shops listed on Fixya. This is if you reside the USA. Go click on "Repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen. Then on "Video Game Consoles", you will see the ads for Repair shops. The one I am talking about specializes in Playstations. Its not junked. I just repair one today. $60 is a great deal.

If your LCD screen is cracked then there is no means to get it working. A vital piece of hardware has been damaged and has made the unit inoperable. You can try sending it into Nintendo but warranty doesn't cover physical damage. They will charge you to replace the screen. If this is something you wish to do you can contact Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700.
Hope this helps.
I recommend seeing an expert. I heard that to replace the internal screen only costs about 20 dollars if you do it yourself. You should look into buying a new screen(internal) but about the leaking LED's you should really try to see an expert or get some support from Sony.
WELL you can,t fix it but you can replace it your self and it very easy to do i have the step by step guide if you want it ? to get your replacementid go to ebay here the price with postige
price: £4.99Buy It Now >End time:12 hours 23 mins (03-Mar-08 09:15:00 GMT)Postage costs:£16.99 Royal Mail Standard Parcels Service to United Kingdom (more services)
what you need to do is go to a service center and have the lcd replaced. there is no remedy for a cracked screen. btw, if you can buy just the lcd and have someone else install that, you can save a lot of money rather than sending it to a certified psp service center.
if the psp screen is anything like a laptop it will have a backlight that lights up the screen what can happen is you can break the light and while you will still see things on the screen when you look closely but it wont be illuminated. i had a friend that dropped his laptop and smashed the backlight he sent it away and got it fixed
i suggest you send it to sony to get it fixed
