I want to use my turntable with my Onkyo HT-R550 receiver. What type of preamp should I get and where should I attach it in the back? Any suggestions are welcome! :)

HI U should have enough power in the onkyo to run the turntable...u can plug it into the rca socket marked in if u have rca plugs on you're player the in rca sockets r in between the out rca sockets & the front rca sockets ....if you're player has the old style plug u can plug it in just above the rca in socket.if u have no luck with them try the CD & tape input section under you're component video section good luck

Error cd player, dont eject and dont play it. Please help!!

AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER TO ANY OBJECT OR PERSONS, AND FOLLOWING MY ADVICE IS PURELY AN ENDEAVOR YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR EMBARKING ON.

"Play" errors often occur due to the format of the recording of the CD. If this was a "factory store purchased" disc, or one that previously was playable in this unit, then that would not be the reason. That won't cause an eject problem either.

One big reason that can cause both these issues is if you have lost your "memory" 12vdc. Usually the memory 12vdc is spliced onto an orange or yellow wire of the player. With the ignition switch "off" there should be 12vdc on the memory wire. With the ignition set to "RUN" you should observe 12 volts DC on 2 separate wires (the memory wire (as described) and the accessory wire (usually the red wire on the player) . A temporary trouble shooting trick is (if you have lost the memory 12vdc, is to temporarily connect your known good 12vdc from the ignition (accessory) to both the red and memory wires, (leaving the car's memory wire disconnected) and see if it now ejects. If it does, you just need to track down the cause of the loss of the memory volts- usually the fuse labeled "clock" but sometimes "lighter" is used, even "dome" light circuits.

Also I have encountered eject and play issues if the gears inside the player get out of sync. Unfortunately, only by opening up the casing of the player can you access these gears, and even then it is "hit and miss" as to re-aligning these gears. Prior to opening up the unit, try to locate a reset button on the back or on the front perhaps under the removable face.

Dirt and lint on the reader portion inside can cause errors playing. Dirt and grime on the moving parts can cause errors and binding that result in poor ejection.

Beyond this point, unless the unit is warrantied, go shopping for a new unit, or do as I have...transfer your music to a thumb drive and buy a unit that takes it!

I lost the disk to my RCA Opal and I am wondering if I can still download music from i tunes. Is their free downloads that would help me with this problem?

You can only put non-DRM iTunes music on your Opal (.m4a I think is the extension unprotected music, so if your music has this extension you sould be ok)

There is no important disk that comes with the RCA Opal. You can run the easyRip installer and during the install it will prompt you whether you want to "import" media from iTunes to easyRip (all this process really does is map to it, not copy it) and any media that gets imported by easyRip can be transferred to your player using easyRip's Player Loader module.

You can download easyRip from the RCA site here:

I cant hear videos ive recorded on my rcam204 mpe player

The media converter that you used to transfer the video to the mp3 player has a checkbox that is usually selected by default that says "Synchronize audio" It is all too easy to accidentally uncheck this option. Open the RCA Video Converter, go into Properties, and make sure that this box is checked. RCA once had a link to an updated version of the RCA Video Converter, but all the links seem to be broken right now - you may have to call them if you have lost your installation CD.

The following discs cannot be played back on this product.
DVD-ROM - DVD-R/DVD-RAM - CD-ROM - VSD - CDV - CD-G - SACD - photo CD - CD-R* - some DTS CD discs - CD-EXTRA (audio-only playback possible) - DVDs with a region number other than "1" or "ALL" - discs recorded in PAL format, others.
