We purchased a Tromm Model#WM2233HW S/N MOLD growing in the rubbe

We purchased a Tromm Model#WM2233HW S/N 704Kwcf03443 and have a MOLD problem. The robber gasget around the opening to the tub does not extract the water and mold is growing on the rubber and can be found on the glass. I have two small children and I am worried. Can this be fixed? This is a design problem why have I not been called to have this problem corrected?

Put 2 cups of bleach into the washing machine and run a cycle with HOT water (long cycle) Steam if possible. This should kill the mold...with a front loading machine you MUST use HE Detergent, and LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN AFTER THE LOAD IS DONE!!!!!!! the seal needs to dry, just like your shower curtain needs to dry. You should also wipe your seal with a dry towel after each load. It does state this in the owners manual, as well as the laminated sheet with the suction cup that came with the machine...

I am so unhappy about the mold problem in the door gasket of my LG Tromm washer. I keep the door ope to ventilate, I dry it out, STILL mold and slime! I periodically bleach the washer to...

Hello- Well, you are not alone in your frustration and the only real solution, unfortunately, is to replace the gasket. As far as the internal parts I have rarely seen mold growing on those parts (in any front load washer), most of the the internal parts are hard plastic and stainless steel and these do not seem to allow the mold to grow even though they are wet a lot of the time. The internal hoses as well do not seem to have this problem. Though it gives little solace or immediate remedy I do think the manufacturers are going to have to come up with a rubber formulation that is not such a friendly environment for the mold. Considering the number of these gaskets, door boots, I have replaced over the years there must be some real issue with the engineering of this rubber or else they would have found a solution years ago. You could try contacting LG and asking them to replace it for free or at least send you the part for free. It usually takes a Tech about an hour to replace. Best regards.

How do i get the mold out?

A lot of times liquid detergent and liquid fabric softener will cause this. Dry the door seal after use and leave the door open. Don' t use bleach if you're on a septic system. There are products that are septic safe to clean the mold. Powdered detergent and not closing it up after using should help a lot

Odor coming from inside washer

There is a tub beyond the tub you see. Run a load of water with chlorine bleach. This will kill the mold & mildew spores that are causing the odors. ****Do NOT add clothing to this washload****

If possible, keep the door open when not in use. This will allow the inside to dry and mold & mildew cannot grow.
