Tru-tech protable DVD doesn't charge.

First off straight out of the box mine didnt work. So no check should be needed considering it was bought brand new. Target replaced it. This one worked for one day. It was for my daughter as a birthday present amd she isnt able to evn watch a movie. Its pathetic to pay 30 dollars on plastic shaped tp be something it isnt. Now I have bought my daughter a tv with built in dvd player. Your company is a joke. To say any different would be inaccurate.

If you're wanting it for a universal remote, you're going to be disappointed. I have yet to see one that had the TT codes.

You could have a problem with this one, Tru Tech is made by Target who use OEM vendors to make their products so it could be anything inside of your machine, universal remotes don't generally work as a result. If your remote has a seek function then you could try that but don't be dissapointed if that doesn't work either you could try the following manufacturer's codes: Goldstar, LG, Funai they all build products for Target or perhaps Philips as they make a lot of DVD drives for other people. You could try this link http://www.1800customersupport.com this will take you to a site that covers a number of brands but I don't have the time to check this site out to see if it will cover your machine. Im guessing w/distributor? If not you are most likely to have fuse blown on the fuse block causing ICM not to fire signal to charge the coil

its not the battery its still cranking isnt it! Probably needs an ecm. By the way it will say Toyota right on it so the toyota version has the same dang problem!!!!

Unfortunately, if the lid will not close properly, there is nothing you can do to fix that. Furthermore, if while holding the lid down the unit still shows "open" on the screen, the unit definitely needs to be repaired or exchanged. If you're in warranty, contact the manufacturer or the extended warranty company for the procedure you'll need to follow.

have same problem but mine has never worked. guess you get what you pay for.if anybody knows were i can get remote codes for the tv please post.

mine does the same thing and its only about 4 mnths old

the battery is dead. that happened to me and i had 3 choices: 1)buy a new dvd player 2)buy a new recharable battery or 3)keep the portable plugged to the wall while i watch movies. i chose number 3 because i usually just use it at places plugs are available. but yeah, the battery is dead.
